So I joined four weeks ago and have 4 followers, 2 projects (5 more yet to come) but still no “scratcher” on my profile

I barely use the simple blocks like

move (10) steps

or like that

and i have comments,stars and hearts (maybe?)

People told me not to beg for having a “Scratcher ” on my profile you know. But I didn't really hold it and that's
why I'm complaining :-(


Pls every new scratcher who wants to be Scratcher comment “:(” so i see how many ppl have the same

some of the ways to get scratcher are:
have atleast 2 projects uploaded
be active a lot
be known a little bit

some users{who?} have experienced not getting the “scratcher status”, so if you dont, please use contact us

There are certain requirements on Scratch that you have to meet to be able to get the “Scratcher” status, plus, you gotta wait for it. I haven't been on the forums for a while, so I'm just going to quote the information from the Scratch wiki.

• Have been on Scratch for enough time (usually about 2 weeks)

This also is not a definitive list; that is, having these does not guarantee one will become a Scratcher in any specific timeframe, as the exact requirements are not made public, but generally being active on the website will eventually result in becoming a Scratcher. Receiving alerts may also lengthen the time it takes to become a Scratcher. However, posting on the forums does not affect how long it takes to become a Scratcher.

The process for becoming a Scratcher is automated, and the Scratch Team will not manually promote a user upon request.

Essentially, the process of becoming a Scratcher can happen at random, and if you want to become a Scratcher, you have to be really active on the website, and try your best to not get alerts telling you that you violated the community guidelines. The Scratch Team usually automates the process.

EDIT: There happens to be a bug where the automated system isn't allowing New Scratchers to promote to Scratchers by following the so called “steps.” Right now, even if the Scratch Team dosen't usually send a promotion message to New Scratchers, the best way to get the Scratcher status is by using Contact Us or the Help Desk.

tbh i just saw that post even if ppl could become a scratcher or not, its actually simple to become one

do not wait, post and get a community, thats how it worked for me

I see that you have asked about this topic and at the current moment, new Scratchers are having to wait lots of time to become a Scratcher, it should take 2-4 weeks so you should get your status soon but I had to wait 2 months for my Scratcher status so I do not know how much longer it will take for you.

The automatic system to become a scratcher is currently broken. If you believe you meet the criteria to become a scratcher, contact the Scratch Team directly using Contact Us.

The Scratch Promotion Servers were online for TWO days, then were broken again. Please go to the help center to receive the rank! For those who are wondering, I literally had to advocate to get those servers running but now they're down again. I like to call these fixes “waves” since they are never permanently fixed.

Strange, when did you start commenting. ST only gives you the status if you engage in the community for a month.

Help Center is the best option. It helped me get the status.
