Currently, there is no verification when adding a Scratch account to the membership. Scratch should require verification via email linked to the Scratch account or Scratch itself before an account can be added to the membership. This can lead to banned accounts or users who don't want the membership to receive it.

For context, this is what the panel looks like where Scratch members can add their Scratch account. There is no verification with the Scratch account that the user owns it.

This doesn't really seem like a big deal to me but I could see how it could cause issues. Maybe it pushes a notification asking if you want to be added to a household for the Scratch membership on the account and they have to accept it to receive the membership.

On that date, users made after nov 6 2024 under 16 have to confirm their parent's email while users made before that date did their own email (and still kept the email after the date if they where made before the date).

This is unrelated, my suggestion is to verify that the Scratch account belongs to the Scratch Member who wants to add the Scratch account to their membership.

I don't think this is likely to be abused. An adult makes the donation and is responsible for the information they provide. If they put down usernames that don't belong to them or are outside their household, I expect they will lose the benefits and not be given a refund.
