Scratch 4.0

I didn't see the need for 4.0 ever since I've joined the community. If they are talking about AI, and releasing in 2027 (Which is in 1 year, 1 month), then I would consider this to be “Scratch 3.1” because if it's bringing new features, but not a complete redesign, then I would call it this. And my mention of “3.0 pages” still indicates that all of the pages are not updated. Profiles, My Stuff, Forums, error pages, & much more need updates. These are my thoughts on this and my suggestive name of Scratch 3.1.
Has anyone noticed this https://scratch.mit.edu/membership ?I've had. It's in the nav bar when signed out on 3.0 pages.

Scratch 4.0
Hello ? What is this place to do?To talk about Scratch 4.0 (but NOT to make suggestions)
The first post says more:
In the 2024 annual report (released today), the message from Scratch's President/CEO has this:As we look ahead to Scratch 4.0 and our ambitious goal to reach the next 100 million children by 2027, …
Also, 4.0 was teased earlier in a Scratch job application section (which can't be linked because it indirectly leads to filling out contact information):In 2025, we’re responding to this growth by focusing on three strategic priorities: developing the new Scratch 4.0, with a re-imagined online community and creative AI; amplifying the impact of Scratch through our programs and research; and developing a robust business model to ensure a sustainable future for the software and the Foundation.
It was announced back in April that AI would be added to Scratch, so it seems 4.0 may be coming in the not-so-distant future. Any thoughts?

I found a blog article by @mres from July with an old prototype of the CLA, as well as a prototype of AI powered ‘AI Blocks’, being:
It shows the CLA being used on the rest of the site as well as the editor, and also expresses some of the concerns that the community now has.

(#191)Still thought it would be good information, especially since it confirms the release year as 2027.

Info from another job description on scratchfoundation.orgGood to know “Scratch is defining… learning”. The Merriam-Webster definition is so outdated. (That was sarcasm for those of you who couldn't tell, btw)

I tried this out, and the AI would never respond, and Scratch would just highlight the block where the AI is supposed to return something, and it would stay on that forever. Can anyone else tell me if the AI blocks are working for them?

They must have disabled it since we found out about it. It was working before, but now it doesn't work for me either.I found a blog article by @mres from July with an old prototype of the CLA, as well as a prototype of AI powered ‘AI Blocks’, being:Oh, hey! Considering they’re releasing Scratch 4.0 in 2027 as part of Scratch’s 20th anniversary then I speculate that they’ll release it around May because that’s the month Scratch was released(#191)Still thought it would be good information, especially since it confirms the release year as 2027.

No I think they’ve ran out of API credits or what’s it called from what I’ve heardThey must have disabled it since we found out about it.
