Pasword reset weirdness

I have a number of old accounts that are telling me that their password has been reset due to inactivity (and some others where I evidently didn't save the right password). I have tried resetting these passwords but have received no reset emails. Is the service down at the moment? And is the inactivity thing broken?

This isn't too urgent since I don't care for many of these accounts anymore anyways but I would like to have them back eventually. I've not been hacked, at least not to my knowledge.

If you’re not getting password reset emails, check your spam or junk folder. Try the official Scratch password reset page again.

If it still doesn’t work, contact the Scratch Team using their Contact Us form.

I've tried those. I'm asking if there's currently an issue with the password reset system (including the ‘reset due to inactivity’ thing), and how long a password reset email should usually take to go through.

Asking here first to avoid sending a contact-us email unneccessarily.

Password reset emails on usually arrive within an hour. If you don’t see it (check spam/junk), there might be a temporary issue.

If basic fixes don’t work, use the Contact Us form so the Scratch Team can help privately.

Before contacting, have these ready:

  • Your correct username
  • The email used to register
  • The birth month and year on the account

Again these cut paste-esque responses aren't really answering what I asked. I don't need a guide on how to use contact us.

I'm quite specifically asking for how long it usually takes as of recently (which does need some kind of sourcing, just saying ‘one hour’ without elaboration isn't useful) and whether there's an issue with ‘reset due to inactivity’ currently.

If you don't have experience with issues with either of those two systems or don't have a link you can give me to a similar forum thread, please don't answer.

I tried the password reset link and I got an email instantly. I feel like you may be looking in the wrong email.

Usually, Scratch password reset emails arrive within minutes to an hour. Sometimes, they can take a few hours or even up to a day, especially if you’ve requested a reset multiple times. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder, and try again if you don’t see it.

I can't find any reports about issues with the ‘reset due to inactivity’ feature. Also, as qq735 mentioned earlier, please double-check that you’re using the correct email address.

I haven't seen any topics mentioning a problem with the password reset system. Let me test to see if I can get an email.
