I just thought of something. We say we look at people's eyes, but actually we're looking at the area around the eyes! The stuff there tells us how they are feeling, like the eyebrows, or how much their eyelids are closed. You never actually look into the never ending hole of the pupil (๑•_•)

huh. Now they say the eyes are the windows to the soul, and for me personally, i do stare directly into someones pupil, but then look away cause it gets awkward.(though doing that also makes it awkward)

Well, to me I just try really hard to find a place to look at without it being awkward. Because yeah, I can't stare at the pupil, I can only look at one of the eyes, and looking at their eyebrows or nose just seems like we're zoning out or paying too much attention to that area of their face which seems really weird. So… I just look around their face like, eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth, etc. But I sometimes (?) can tell the emotion behind their eyes.
