Why is Geometry Dash shadowbanned?

Just searched for it, nothing shows up. I presume because of copyright issues but 1. That doesn't really solve anything, and 2. This hasn't been done for other franchises (I think)

I believe I will reconsider whether it is actually a good idea for me to get geometry dash.

I think that the mean reason it was taken down by the creators was because it was being used for a lot of scam websites. Considering that it was up for so long, they might have been fine with it being up on Scratch until it got to the point where it was too much.

Why not remove the websites?

Here's the thing, they have been removed, it's just that more keep popping up, and it's hard to have the time to send a legal takedown, have people respond to it, process it, and to act if they don't respond, and in the time that happens a lot more sites can pop up because it's really easy to just build a site off a template and embed a Scratch project in it.

the projects are well meaning but the “free games” websites are loaded with ads. Embedding GD projects makes more people go to the site, more people see ads, and more money to the sites operators.

The malware is likely not the sites fault. Anyone can pay for an ad, and that can take anyone anywhere on the internet.

True, but it could still act as one of the reasons why robtop is taking the GD projects down, to stop people from wanting to go to the sites

why can't they just like, make their own Scratch project? Or just use a different engine? Hiding and removing GD projects is only hiding the problem, not really solving it

To shut down something, which would you prefer?:

1. shut down the source of power
2. shut down the things spreading the source

And the scam websites don't make their own because they're either not meant for piracy or lazy. It's a scam website, piracy isnt always what they're aiming for.
