So, Scratch's new thumbnail feature could be better and these are my ideas how. When you click the set thumbnail button it should ask you if want choose your current screen (The same way the feature works right now), Upload a thumbnail, or design your own Thumbnail using a feature similiar to when you design a Sprite/Backdrop.

The uploading part would definitely be useful, but if you wanted to press design a thumbnail, how would it be any different than designing a regular sprite and then hiding it or deleting it after the thumbnail saved?

It would just be more effiecient

problem, nasty thumbnails could be uploaded as long as they add a check (which usually those checks are very very easy to bypass (won't say how for if this is added people don't abuse the bypass)) then sure it could be useful
edit: i wouldn't use the bypass either i'm just saying that stuff like that could be easily bypassed

People can already add those kind of pictures through the picture uploading available in making projects though, thus they can already get pictures like that for thumbnails.

I do agree that it would probably be easy to bypass a check. Luckily I haven't heard of anything like this on Scratch. Have you seen anything like this?

no but i've seen it elsewhere (pg3d being having a HUGE bypass problem.. for cuss words in the chat) i meant for the upload if they added a check for uploading photos (e.g. “this photo contains content not safe for scratch please upload another photo”) that could be easy to bypass (and i know how.. won't say for reasons, and i wouldn't use it sense i try my best to follow the rules)
