I like the idea of this. Better system for deleting though. Right clicking on a field should have a popup that says “delete field?”. Don't see any downsides to this and it would keep things tidier.

(() + (0) @delInput @addInput::operators)The letter block would allow you to select multiple letters, so this:
(() - (0) @delInput @addInput::operators)
(() * (0) @delInput @addInput::operators)
(letter () of [world] @delInput @addInput::operators)
(letter (1) (2) of [world] @delInput @addInput::operators)Would report “wo”
