Account Log-in error

Hi,

I wanted to report that my account was not accessible for the last 3 days — I kept getting logged out automatically.

Today, I suddenly got access again, which felt strange. I think my account might have been temporarily blocked or soft-locked during that time.

I’m confused because I didn’t do anything wrong or break any Scratch rules. I now suspect that someone may have falsely reported me, which possibly triggered the lock.

Can you please help me confirm if that happened, and if possible, help identify who may have falsely reported me? I want to make sure my account stays safe and that the community is protected from false reporters.

Thank you for your help and all the work you do!

Account-locking does not exist as a punishment. I'd also like to point out false-reporting is only ever getting you punished if there was something genuinely wrong with the project - The report options such as “I don't like this project” do literally nothing besides tell you “you cant report for this”, and if a project is reported en masse, it gets put in a queue and reviewed eventually (if it isn't reviewed in a month (and the alert specifically says it was automatic), you can ask Contact-Us to review).

That said, this was possibly the ST removing your password due to it being a breach (I'd recommend giving that one a read) and being crackable if someone wanted to. Thatm or this was a back-end issue.

As a note (though I doubt as you said “last 3 days”), if you're inactive for 2 weeks, your scratchsessionid expires (see cookies - this is the one keeping you logged in) and you get logged out.

There's a glitch that constantly signs people out. If it happens again and doesn't let you sign in, going onto the forums and signing in from there worked for me for some reason. Not sure if it'll work for everyone.

If the report was truly false, you would not have been punished. The sign out glitch is weird.
