Where do the Music Loops Come From? [UPDATED]

Another thing I think should be changed on the list is gyrow and pralax. I found an image from the previous topic of someone looking in the files of scratch 1.4 and it clearly states that gyrow and pralax came from mass ave sessions and NOT the improvisations vault (name of the album of all of the original gloobic songs). That would be like saying for example: a show has a lost episode but when it’s found there was a pilot for it so the episode isn’t found because the pilot isn’t found.

Where do the Music Loops Come From? [UPDATED]

Another one of my theories: Drip Drop + Human Beatbox 2 could both be from samplenet and their metadata may be messed up as they were probably ran through a editing software and then redownloaded. But if they are from samplenet then R.I.P to their OG counterparts especially Drip Drop is 89 BPM and most of the 0-100 BPM breaks are lost media

Where do the Music Loops Come From? [UPDATED]

I found a website called sonicftp while looking for drip drop and human beatbox 2 on sample net hoping to find them there and how I got to sonicftp was via trying to view a file but it wasn’t archived so when I clicked view all and then went to calendar I was randomly sent to sonicftp where I found jungle but it was called “bigkat” (update) I’m getting kinda upset rn cause there are 6 human beatbox tracks and many tracks implying dripping/plopping but NONE are saved to the internet archive and I want to find a way to view them (Update 2) Sonicftp is useless. It appears to be independent from samplenet so almost every music file are not archived compared to samplenet where although you can’t access the files normally, using way back machine’s URL search you can obtain the RA files from links connected to songs which can be converted to MP3 (edit) I think the files are curropted or are too small to the point where they can’t be played (update 3) nvm I’m wrong again. Sonicftp does provide some of the songs. (Edit) despite how I’ve only been in this search for a little while, it’s obvious that 1.4’s sound origins may be the absolute hardest. Anyways my biggest finding so far is the fact that Swirly Jungle (origin of jungle) is actually called BigKat

Where do the Music Loops Come From? [UPDATED]

Sorry for yapping too much but I feel like there is no more places to search, no more downloads to find, no more metadata to read, and now we have to email those who were associated with 1.4 and 2.0 (which is risky imo)

Guys should we count the “Birthday” track in the sound library as a loop on the list? Like it is loopable but it isn’t categorized like a lot of other things that should be categorized like instruments that aren’t put in notes or percussion. Edit: if we do then it’s a 3.0 track btw
Maybe? I thought that was a 2.0 track though.

Wait quick question: Do y’all know the people who were sent to find the tracks to add to scratch for 1.0?

I believe it was Jay Silver, although this isn't 100% for sure.
Reasons why:
1. @jay was the user who commented on “Carrots and Eggs” asking to add that song, so there's that.
2. Jay Silver is Beau Silver's brother
3. Jay Silver had done a Scratch video with gloob(ic) music in it (IIRC)
However, there's still a chance it could have been multiple people.

Finding! This is the list of people who helped find the tracks! They’re right next to the seventh scratch cat under the special thanks section!

(edit: I realized you meant the 2.0 doesn’t have the credits. Basically every version of scratch had their own credits domain, and I accessed the credits for 1.0 by finding the about section and going to credits, I think 2.0 has its own credit footer), but the 1.0 version is more necessary cause we may be able to contact those people associated with 1.0 especially since the 1.0 tracks are more mysterious and hard to track. The remaing 2.0 tracks may be easy to find by using contact us or a QAS topic (I’ve already made one) because it’s more recent and the dance tracks + elec piano loop may have been created by scratch team

Nice find!!!
Worth noting here: Jeff Lieberman was one of the two people in gloob(ic) –– I knew that name sounded familiar to me!

Yep! I knew that too! One thing I would like to mention is I did hoard the find at first cause I didn’t think it was useful right at that time (I found it shortly after joining the search) but I decided to share it now after I realized that the 1.0-1.4 tracks are basically extremely hard to find now. (Edit) I had mentioned it in a previous comment on page 3 I think (it was either page 2, 3, or 4) but I didn’t say who was on the team or how many people were. I just said there was a team of people

Nope, it’s probably as easy as a hop (scroll down) skip (use contact us or make a topic about it on the forums which I’ve done) and a jump (wait for a response) to see if it is made or not. Xylo 1 and 2 are the true hardest. No origin, no artist, no title, there is NOTHING a connected to it aside from the fact that they were gotten from a CD ripper website which is even worse cause we have to FIND the CD. I think W. Marshall may be a clue for finding the CD cause he apparently has taught music and the CD sounds like it would be used for teaching music and he was on the music collector team. Also I think the CD may be teaching about the xylophone FAMILY and not the xylophone instrument. Cause Xylo1 sounds like it’s using a marimba and Xylo2 sounds like it’s using a glockenspiel of some sorts, which are both in the xylophone family (except for a glockenspiel), but aren’t exact actual xylophones.
