Can someone please tell me how to get a gif as my profile picture. Thanks!

First put your mouse over your profile picture on your profile page. Then click change and select the gif as the image to upload.

You can find a short gif image on Google, just type in short gif s. Then save the one you like, go back to your profile, click your icon and find the gif image after that yo should have a GIF
