What safe sites can I use to download YouTube audio?

I need a bunch of different YouTube audio clips for a project I’m making. I usually use cobalt but it isn’t working right now and keeps downloading blank files. What other YT to mp3 sites can I use that are safe?

I've used https://cnvmp3.com/v25 for a couple months now and everything seems good - and all the deep dives on the Internet I've done have shown it's pretty safe. The website's not very sketchy either.

The only thing with this site is that for some videos (especially music), it'll mistake it for another video of the same title. A couple (songs, for example) can't be downloaded with this, but I think it's mostly pretty great with fast download times. It will auto-download for you, just a note - you don't need to click anything like with cobalt.

yt-dlp is a well-known command line tool that does this. It being around for years, not relying on any other website and having over 100k stars should be a good indicator of safety.
Though I haven't used it, the few times I needed audio from YouTube, I used Audacity to record the system audio as the video played.

Edit: now I have used yt-dlp, can confirm it works though you need ffmpeg or some other tool to do file conversions to mp3.

You can use YouT.com to download YouTube videos at MP3, MP4, WAV or GIF.
To use it, remove the “ube” of YouTube in the video URL.

I usually use this website for converting youtube videos to audio/video. It seems fine to me.

That doesn't work on all devices without using 3rd party software.

I would say that but Audacity is good to have, and usually sites for this lag and end up with funky audio

audacity is also open source, so you can take a look at the code to make sure that it's not a scam unlike most of the video downloading websites
