Here’s a helpful guide on common Scratch bugs, fixes!

[b]Common Scratch Bugs & Fixes
1. Sprite Not Moving Correctly?

Bug: Sometimes a sprite doesn't follow movement commands properly.
Fix: Double-check its starting X and Y coordinates, and ensure no “Forever” or “Repeat Until” loops are interfering.
2. Game Feels Laggy?

Bug: Large projects can slow down.
Fix: Reduce unused scripts, limit clones, and use “Broadcast” events instead of forever loops for smoother execution.
3. Ghost Effect Not Working?

Bug: The “Ghost” effect only applies to bitmap sprites, not vector.
Fix: Convert the costume to a bitmap, and the effect should apply properly.
4. Music Stops Suddenly?

Bug: Sounds cut off unexpectedly.
Fix: Use “Forever” loops for background music, and ensure no “Stop All Sounds” block runs by mistake.
5. Cloud Variables Not Saving?

Bug: Your cloud leaderboard doesn't store scores.
Fix: Cloud variables only work in shared projects—ensure you've saved and shared the game first!

I've never heard of a vector sprite not working properly with the ghost effect, any source on this?

They work just fine on vector sprites, I don't know where they are coming from…

It's really nice that you want to help out with a guide! However, we have a number of them in the forums already and we don't have a good way to showcase any more. If you want to make a guide in a Scratch project, that would be fine. You could advertise it in the “Show and Tell” section too.

There are lots of other ways to help out in the forums too. Helpful Scratchers are always welcome in the “Questions About Scratch”, “Help With Scripts”, “Requests” and other sections. Just look around and ask questions
