The part about the Universe not having a ‘memory’ intrigues me, as I think rather the opposite.

See, I believe that the pas is still going on right at this moment, as is the future. The past is set in stone, and you can't change that, but the fuuture has millions upon millions of possibilities of paths to go, and only a handful that would be considered logical (by human thinking).

I have a theory on time that I have dubbed the ‘Book Theory’. The way I see it, time works like a book, except it's constantly being written. Throughout the pages are all the events that have happened, straight from the beginning (that is, if there was a beginning, but that's the ‘Numberline Theory’ of mine, so I'll drop the matter). Every little detail is written down, from the largest explosion to the tiniest movement of an atom. There's more to this theory than meets the eye, though.

The reason it's compared to a book is because you can jump to any part that you want (but the future may always be a random timestream, as the ‘book’ is constantly being written), BUT nothing can be changed, as there are many, many possibilities to the future, so all are written ahead of time, but it's up to the ‘author(s)’ to decide which one goes in (of course, some have a higher probability of occurring than others).

So, for arguments' sake, let's say that a ‘page’ were to be torn out. All the events that happen after that will be effected and a whole new timestream would occur (but I'm pretty sure it's an axiom).

Number line Theory is that the History of the Universe never truly had a beginning, but like a number line, worked in reverse as well. Basically, there was/is a parallel Universe.

I mean, think about it: if nothing existed before the Big Bang, then how is it possible that came to be?

No, no! DEFINATELY not. Just from my understanding, I thought it would be harder is all, but I will take a look at that article. Thanks for the link.

There's nothing wrong with originality! And if the theory sounds flawed - perhaps you can help improve it by identifying the weak spots and helping to shore it up - rather than making a vague critique.

Well, I hope you aren't saying mean things to your friends about their religious (Wow I actually spelled it right ) beliefs. Even though I'm a strong believer in science, I wouldn't do that. I'm also not saying that this is challenging. I really never intended it to be, just a place to talk about this. And I don't think this is a good place to get into religious discussions…
