yume's (old) writing thread!
OH- MY BAD- i didn't get notifs for this at all SOBB- yes, because i need to catch up to you dystopian needs to reclaim our position as first. (also YAY YOU GUYS HIT 50K :SPARKLES: and mystery is gatekeeping last so we'll support their every belief and goal because we're the most chaotic and fun and supportive and welcoming and literally just the most epic sibling trio i have seen to date xD) anyways i should probably be responding to these COUGH i keep procrastinating even on this. wow such a great role model yume /j /sarc
honestly, i haven't even gotten to rechecking my wpm either- last few times i just dug up my previous comments on word wars and etc and then pasted it, although i'm like pretty sure it's usually a lot slower than that since i do have to formulate ideas and that uhh- i don't really know anymore xD yeah, i keep losing my train of thought while typing this across like an entire hour SOB so i apologize for that :,D my docs are a bigger disaster, don't worry- i literally have writing scattered across like two different documents and ont the forums as well. and yeah, i'm… also trying to get this account promoted! i have a very long way to go sobbing, it took quite a bit to get yumetopia to 1k and now i'm at 30 here helpp- i mean if i got yumeverse to 100+ within like from the start of the year then maybe? i just have to be diligent with my yumedailies xDD i haven't touched them in days SOBB oh and the random yume facts should probably return xD
planning!!
COUGH. yes like that weekly xDD kind of!! i also have to go rn so bye for now :0? we can get back to actual brainstorming later- and tallying up all of this- should i get the weekly transferred onto here? (i'll do it when i come back either way, i need posts xD)
and as a an extra fact, i don't think i've /ever/ sent a valid war. if i did, i genuinely can't remember xDD, but i don't think i have ahahaha- the most active i really was in a swc session might have been epistolary so that's the biggest chance if there were really to be a war there but i'm also not sure since i probably would have remembered if i did? but at the same time we all know yumemory doesn't exist so we'll leave that up to… history! ^^;;

Page 17, Yume. :eyes:
Wow. I'm supposed to read through… this.
…I'm kidding- I read through it all, no worries xD. Just have no idea how I'd possibly reply to it all, but I can't say this is all too new for me- Yeah. Watch me section everything and then absolutely regret every bit of it.
WPM:
We should check our respective speeds tomorrow, then. Presumably after we've at least had a decent amount of rest, since my fingers can barely function at all this hour. And no worries, I'm late to reply by almost two and a half hours myself. And then do WPM-related rants or sprints for more words, since that's the sensible thing to do.
Docs:
Part of me feels like doing a re-org tomorrow as well, while the other… I have no idea how long it's going to take me, so it's just the worry that I'll end up taking time off actual writing. Maybe during April, then.
Forums:
…I swear it didn't look like this much sections when I first read this through. If we continue at the pace we are, striking conversations out of nowhere and all, I doubt it'll take that long, actually. And just post whatever as fillers to speed up the process, to which you've already been doing. Though, my biggest concern at the moment is just how I'd be able to build the amount of history I did across my previous accounts on here, given that I really wouldn't be on here for much besides camps. Our whiteboards and everything exist, so even that wouldn't be a significant issue. Even so- Yeah, I've gone way off topic. Never mind that!
Weekly Planning:
Alright. If I recall correctly, we have around four to five of the… things (“Little dhsjghfdjkse things”, as Blau likes to call them ;D)…? Pardon me, really- I need to regroup after sleep. For once, Sooeun feels tired before midnight hits. …Maybe writing almost 4k a day wasn't the best call. And I still have this bunch to add. Good night! For now, at least. …I'm not coming back on. Hopefully. I'll spend some time handwriting words, possibly. In, quite obviously, completely legible handwriting… .
Edit: THAT TIMESTAMP. I'M ABOUT TO DIE OF LAUGHTER.

yume's (old) writing thread!
i did not notice :00 but woah, we have really been flooding this pfft- didn't we start off at like three or five or something?? i wouldn't know, yumemory… doesn't exist.
alright, put cpdb on and it is finally time to reply to all of this (SOB PROCRASTINATION JHDGJKHGDFS-)
wpm:
alright! i'll get to taking the test after typing this entire bunch out ahaha, since i probably do need some warmup lol-
docs + weekly 4:
i think i'll just give up for now sobb, organization can come during april when i have a little more time (aka there isn't an entire weekly on the line COUGH not me who hasn't actually started. i dislike the procrastination potatoes :,0) part of me feels like waiting until tomorrow and speedrunning it within one day but i also don't think that's possible. actually you know what, i need posts anyways so i'll probably post my weekly overview thing as well as the sdc ref weekly stuff after i get this done and wait out the minute pfft.
forums:
as seen above, i think the only real way to gather enough posts is to… spam endlessly random things on this forum, since i don't really think anyone would have the patience to read through all of this (unless they were an extremely loyal stalker of the sdl team? yes this is me wanting words and therefore getting a bunch of rambling in but since sooeun is older and korea really likes their age orders i sometimes feel like “yumeun” doesn't sound right and it should be “soome” instead but then the “e” already works and that can be combined with “blaume” easily as “blaumeun” alright i'm gonna make this entire thing small so it doesn't take up too much space whoops, yume rambling can really get a bit crazy. i haven't even added my paragraphs from yesterday yet so i'll also get to that in a second aha)
weekly planning:
i'll also get the stuff in a second! bwahaha xDD SOOEUN SLEPT WOAH?? unni is being a good role model for once /lh <3 yume is also glad to report that yume got sleep last night. weekends are great for catching up on lost sleep ahaha but i also am very scared for the weekly being due tomorrow SOB maybe our priority now should be swc weekly instead of the sdc weekly writeup but i'm gonna post it anyways as said like a million times already- yume is cheesing every bit of this just for the words. do not follow the example of yume. :,D
PFFFTT you even have the number in your username now xDDD

Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to- wait, wasn’t it your birthday yesterday? Oh, what? It’s your birthday /every/ day? Well, that seems right on topic as that’s the theme of today’s daily! Write 500 words about what you would do and how you would if it’s your birthday every day for 400 points and an extra 150 if you share proof!

yume answers random swcer questions (again)
credits to kenzie for the original project! ^^
⋆ ┈┈┈┈┈ ⋆ ୨୧ ⋆ ┈┈┈┈┈ ⋆
Q: Nickname?
A: yume! …to be fair, it's my nickname on here but i also use it when talking to myself irl pfft- i guess it's just habits i've built since like five, six years ago xD
Q: First session?
A: aaaa i would assume this would mean first official session, that would be march 2021! i first found swc in march 2020 though, just didn't know signups or backups were a thing :,)
Q: Favorite session?
A: this is incredibly hard. i want to say all of them, since, well- every session has all of its wonderful bits that makes it what it is. however, if i had to pick just one, at the moment i'd argue it'd be march ‘24, the epistolary and gurtle chaos session <3 i seriously loved that one for what it is and i wrote most of more memorable swc pieces during that session as well. (that last soup weekly remains my love.)
Q: Least favorite session?
A: hhh. don’t do this to me :,DD i think the main idea for this response is just one you may not have enjoyed the most, which would probably be my first and third sessions since i wasn't too active </3
Q: Favorite cabin?
A: going on from two questions before, most likely epistolary for the aesthetic… but all the cabins i've been in were amazing, and it'd be unfair to pick between them. however, favorite cabin outside of the ones i've camped in would probably be naan-fi, fantasy wishing well, illu-fi mushroom village, and moss' gothic cabins (THEY WERE ALL SO PRETTY GO STALK THEM YOU WON'T REGRET IT <3)
Q: Have you ever been a (co) leader?
A: yep! long story short since i need to pause my writing for this project in a few minutes aha
Q: What was your favorite cabin you've (co)led? (if you haven't co-led a cabin yet, what's your favorite cabin you've seen made by others?)
A: THIS IS SIMPLY UNFAIR. WHAT- WHAT IS UP WITH ALL THE “FAVORITE” QUESTIONS :,)) (/lh, no offence kenzie but this is just… too difficult for yume ;w
i already answered the second part unknowingly as well- okay i'll just go ahead and mention the cabins i've co-led, which would be dystopian and script! both cabins were super cool and super high pressure and my leader and fellow cos were just really nice, this also applies to any cabin i've led or camped in, you all are amazing raaaahh
Q: Someone you admire/look up to in SWC? (can be more than 1!)
A: all the hosties, gHosties, and every single person who has contributed in the camp in any way <33 a very yume answer but that's indeed true- though, i think a special shoutout needs to go to the birdi stanning cult hehehe
Q: Favorite SWC inside joke?
A: mangoes is a popular one which i do like, but my favorite at the moment has to the (thor)th weekly <333 literally the best thing in the whole entire galaxwc, ris you really are blessed aaaa
Q: What cabins have you been in?
A: in order, we have: mythology mar ‘21, poetry coffeehouse mar ’23, dystopian spy society jul ‘23, fairy tale(s) academy nov ’23, (help what 2023 feels liks so long ago now TT), epistolary letter terminal mar ‘24, (the high pressure washing machine) script podcast jul ’24, sci-fi (swc) time machine nov ‘24, and dystopian perfaith city mar ’25!! can't wait to see what'll come next :00
Q: What was the account you used for your first SWC session?
A: @cs4438815 ^^
Q: Favorite daily?
A: aaa. another hard one- this is probably a controversial opinion but the daily in which you write less for each hour you slept xDD it was definitely an… interesting experience to see everyone that doesn't sleep enough get their payback ahaha- and also the pb strike ones are always fun ^^ (the one session i was on the 50k grind i wrote letters to and from myself on the topic of the strike, it got pretty crazy xD) but that aside, three word stories, soup dailies, and the flower daily definitely stand out as classics, but shamefully enough i haven't really participated in those ones recently :,)) planning on changing that next session when they come back aaa. OH ALSO how could i forget??? the no points cabin swap weekly was the best thing we had since motivational mangoes.
Q: Favorite writing comp entry you've read? (yours or someone else's)
A: no idea, they're all so good sobbbb- …except mine of course :,>
Q: Favorite Weekly?
A: project weekly wise, probably a three-way tie between memorieswc, swcaboose, and absurdly birdi wordy crawl! fourth weeklies are more often than not one extremely large soup daily and i really love the freedom of those. however, in terms of general weeklies, i particularly loved the cabin creation weekly and the journalism weekly (though i never finished the latter :,0)
Q: Favorite In-cabin activity?
A: qotds are always fun! i find that they more often than not give the campers an excuse to visit the cabin's main studio more often (and also bring in an occasional flow of stalkers :>)
Q: What advice would you give to new swc-ers?
A: have fun! write! do dailies and weeklies! most importantly, try getting to know some swcers! the community is genuinely so welcoming, after just one session you'd feel like you've known each other since forever. the bonds made in this camp can seriously go far, don't underestimate it. aaaand of course, try convincing some of your other friends to join! no camp is complete without some (quite literal ahaha) friendly competition- to which you should also join the swc leaderboard so that you can compete against the rest of camp in terms of word count! tried and true motivation method >
Q: Favorite application idea you've seen?
A: i am very biased because i love trains but mildred's train app was so pretty- and i also remember loving mouse's hero's journey app a lot aaa- livy's app from this past session definitely stood out to me, blau's rui-themed app was a whole lot of memories, and sooeun's encryption app basically made me collapse laughing and crying at the same time :,D <3.
Q: What inspired you to join SWC?
A: ZY!! the all amazing super cool (but refuses to admit it :<<<) extremely talented artist and writer aka zyzeryko!! i first saw swc on one of his old profiles and that's where it started <3 so basically i owe zy my life… /hj
Q: Your favorite piece you've written in SWC?
A: no idea :sob: my silly persuasive essay on frying pans that i wrote late in night is definitely memorable, but as you can probably guess the quality just isn't there xD maybe it's still the mar ‘24 key chase then :0 (but yumemory fails yume half the time so there might be something i missed xD)
Q: A suggestion for SWC?
A: maybe having campers vote for next session’s theme (out of predetermined options)? i feel like that could gather interest and overall excitement for the next session to come :00
Q: What you like best about a cabin? (in cabin activity, leader quality, etc.)
A: i mean, of course you'd take into account how nice the leaders are, but since they're in that position they're probably really cool and really nice people :0 for me, i mainly look for cabin aesthetics and storyline! if a cabin has a nice-looking thumbnail, a super chaotic sibling studio, and interactive activities, then count me in <3
Q: Favorite Word wars prompt?
A: literally anything about mangoes is always so fun to write about xD i also loved chuey's one about… was it eyelashes? xD don't really remember but it was delightfully random and hilarious bahaha
Q: Favorite thing about the SWC community?
A: THAT YOU ALL EXIST :sobbb: such amazing people who are chaotic and fun yet support each other through whatever it might be <33
Q: If you were a SWC host for a day, what would you implement or change?
A: i would implement word war sending limits per person ^^. no, that doesn't exactly take away from the warring leaderboard, but i'd say it'd be a lot nicer if each person can only war a cabin let's say once or twice throughout the day, so other people from other cabins also have a chance of sending a war. and there's more stakes in terms of strategizing who to send to at what time, which could also be fun! (please spare perfaith city and our shield… you know who you are :,))
Q: Favorite thing about being a (co)leader?
A: i would say everything but as of right now what comes to mind is planning sibling studios!! i have such a soft spot for them and it's always so fun getting to plan with leaders from other cabins as well hehe
Q: Would you want to be a SWC host some day?
A: if i could, i'd honestly love to xDD however, my one concern is the amount of time i'd have to put in, definitely- but as someone who's hosted a session of another camp, it's definitely worth it <3
Q: What does SWC stand for? (silly question)
A: shinonononononomes want cheesecakes.
Q: Give me a daily idea.
A: (oh my it is finally starting to kick in how many questions there are- i remember there being less sdgafkjdg? told you my memory is <<< :,D) swc fanfic, swap roles with someone from a different cabin for a day and write from that perspective!
Q: A goal for the next SWC session.
A: the goal is to accomplish the goal i set on the first day of said session :>
Q: Favorite SWC memory?
A: aaaAAAAAAaaA stop doing this to me :,DD i was pretty much crying when i shared my key to our dreams app, even thinking about that moment brings tears to my eyes and i am not exaggerating, that app means everything to me and the relief i felt after finally getting it out is unmeasurable, definitely one of the most emotional and memorable days i've ever had <33
Q: Do you procrastinate, have an abnormal sleep schedule, and/or an obsession with Taylor Swift?
A: hhh- yes, sometimes, and no-
Q: Favorite nickname you've seen in SWC?
A: all the ris-combined leader/cabin name combinations!!
Q: What's your favorite SWC cult that you've seen or been in?
A: not sure if this counts as a cult but the swc weekly speedrunners! and if not, frying pan cult remains iconic ahaha
Q: Have you ever stayed up late for SWC?
A: i believe so :,)) can't name it but i've probably done it once or twice… ah i think once was cabin wars and the other was on the last day of nov ‘23 and i needed to write 10k that day to reach my goal ajdshjhdgsakjdh
Q: What’s your favorite part of a SWC session?
A: watching the cabin setup! always a favorite of mine both while leading and to-be campering ^^
Q: What's a song that describes SWC or a cabin you've been in?
A: pheles reminded me of dystopian perfaith city a lot, which is why i chose that for the sibling trio playlist hehe (the fact that this is getting close to 9000 characters scares me- and i still have so many questions sjgdjk)
Q: Have you convinced an irl friend to join SWC yet?
A: unfortunately not :,D the only few irl friends i have grown out of scratch wayyy back :sob:
Q: Have you ever pulled an all-nighter for cabin wars?
A: nope! xD yume likes her sleep. also i don't believe i've sent a valid war which goes to show i'm not a crazy warrer pfft-
Q: Do you have any SWC merch irl?
A: YES the ruler with swc written on it that i mentioned before and also ikea stuff!
Q: Favorite SWC session theme? (name the session and theme!)
A: AAAAAA- nov ‘23 purple galaxy and mar ’25 ticket to ride are very close!
Q: Favorite SWC mascot?
A: SKOG AND BLAHAJ I LOVE THEM SO MUCH <333
Q: What's something weird you've done that SWC made you do?
A: eating like half a bag of dried mangoes a day is probably more concerning than weird…
Q: Do you like being a honorary, camper, co-leader, leader, or host?
A: i'd say leader and co ^^ though, waiting for your cabin invite as a camper is super fun too ahaha
Q: Favorite SWC sibling/ally/neutral/enemy group you've seen?
A: do i even have to say it. THE CABIN WARS CABINS, THE HOSTILE SIBLINGS, THE ONE AND ONLY SWCOZ! …aka their corrupted hands xD but the eternal silly thumb will forever remain iconic <3
Q: If you could meet one swc-er irl, who would it be?
A: you know who you are ^^ <3
Q: And finally, Did you like this?
A: of course!! i wrote almost 1.8k words just on this which is crazy considering that's over my session daily average for the past session :,DD but yes, this is my second time answering and i still enjoyed it so much, and a mango-filled thank you to kenzie for making this for everyone! <33

yume's (old) writing thread!
A: shinonononononomes want cheesecakes.
Introduction
Hello, designers, and welcome aboard the first weekly of the session! Throughout this upcoming week, you’ll be creating your very own sticker pack to promote a message of your choice. I’m sure we’re all eager to start designing, so let’s not stall for any longer and get into it!
Part 1 - Theme and Message
For this first part of our weekly, we’ll begin by brainstorming any possible ideas for a theme you’d like your sticker pack to revolve around. You want your stickers to promote a message, whether that’d be related to climate change, peace, or anything else you come up with. It could be as serious or as silly as you prefer (yes, you are allowed to make a sticker pack promoting the nutritious value of potatoes), but please ensure that it fits within the Scratch Community Guidelines and won’t be offensive to anyone on or off the site. Come up with a list of 4-5 ideas, then choose one you’d like to continue with!
Part 2 - Brainstorming
Now that you’ve gotten your theme, it’s time to start coming up with any ideas you may have for the stickers themselves! Whether that be solely graphic or text-based, or some with a mix of both, include a variety of options! You’re free to take inspiration from external sources, but please don’t copy off an existing design exactly. Create simple pencil or digital drafts, or combine reference elements, to draft up at least 10 different sticker ideas that correspond to your chosen theme. Once you’ve done that, you can come back here and head on in to the next part!
Part 3 - Sticker Design
It’s time to actually design our stickers! How you go with this part of the process is entirely up to what you have access to as well as what you’re comfortable with, so pick whichever option sounds better for you. You can either use your usual digital design software (common choices are Canva or Pixrl), draw your own stickers, or even use the Scratch vector editor to create vector stickers (most vinyl sticker designs are created on vector!). The only requirement is that they are done digitally. To finish this part of the weekly, create a finalized set of at least six different stickers, based off your concept sketches from Part 2.
Part 4 - Packing It Up
Now that you have your stickers on hand, the only thing left to do before they can go out and spread your message to the world is… packaging! Design a package for your stickers, whether that be a sticker sheet header design with your stickers below it, or for those who would prefer their stickers to be sticker flakes, the little bag with a cutout window (If you choose this option, please design the back of the package as well!). Once again, whatever you pick is your choice entirely, so have fun with it!
Part 5 - Sticker Pack Summary
We’re almost there! You’ve created your very own set of stickers, packaged them, and now it’s time to sell them out. To finish off this weekly, write in around 50-100 words a short brief of your design concept, the message you’re trying to convey, and how you believe your stickers have achieved that goal.
Conclusion
And that’s it! Congratulations, you’ve just designed your very own sticker pack. (If you have a printer at home, or have access to one via your local library, feel free to print out your sticker designs and perhaps put them to use that way as well, we’d love to see your creations!) Before you head on to the Main Cabin and collect your pixels, make sure you’ve completed all the required parts of the weekly.
Part 1 - a list of 4-5 theme ideas for your sticker pack, as well as having chosen one to be your final theme
Part 2 - concept sketches of at least 10 sticker ideas, done either on paper or digitally
Part 3 - a set of at least 6 final stickers created in digital form
Part 4 - packaging in the form of your choosing for your sticker pack/sheet
Part 5 - a 50-100 word brief describing your sticker pack’s theme and overall message
This weekly is due August 9th, at midnight UTC, and is worth XXXX pixels! Please submit your completed weeklies before then. If you are in need of an extension and have a pressing reason, extension requests are available and can be found on this project. And that’s it for now, we’ll see you again next week! <3
