The scratch team should make a button that allows you to show a project's past history (like in word or docs).
For example, every time you save a project, that version is saved into scratch.
If you make a mistake you can't undo (like forgetting a line of code you deleted and can't bring it back) and need to view an older version of the project, you can do that by clicking the history button and scrolling through your past versions.
I understand if this would be too glitchy or problematic for scratch though.

That's one way to crash the servers, and remixes can preserve the project's history

That's one way to crash the serversYeah. Scratch's servers already have lots of issues running properly. Adding this feature, even though it would be useful, would cause too much server strain to be practical.
If you need historical iterations of your projects, you can just save a copy to your computer or remix the project before each update you make.
