Who is Ready for a Brain Challenge?
Plus, time is really only a perception. Time can feel like it's going slower or faster than usual, but that's just your perception changing.wrong

Okay, I don't think it's right to just go and say something is wrong. You should explain why something is wrong so he or she can see his or her mistake.

Who is Ready for a Brain Challenge?
Nothing in physics states that time travel is impossible, but from my logic, going to the past would be harder to achieve than going forward. Its the paradox that says if you go back in time and kill your grandfather, you were never born. Therefore, you couldn't have killed your grandfather, which means you were born, and go back in time… and so on. INFINITE!This is why time travel is impossible. If you were to do this, what would happen? Or if you stopped the person who invented the time machine from creating the time machine? Or if you killed your previous self? Or even visited it? Would you remember your previous self seeing your present self? Or would you retain your memories and just remember visiting your previous self?
Plus, time is really only a perception. Time can feel like it's going slower or faster than usual, but that's just your perception changing. And it's not like the universe has a memory of what's happened in the past or what's going to happen, so we can't just tap into these and create a time machine. There's only one way to technically travel in time: travel at light speed. This way, you could technically see things before they happen, as you would reach them before light would.
The part about the Universe not having a ‘memory’ intrigues me, as I think rather the opposite.
See, I believe that the pas is still going on right at this moment, as is the future. The past is set in stone, and you can't change that, but the fuuture has millions upon millions of possibilities of paths to go, and only a handful that would be considered logical (by human thinking).
I have a theory on time that I have dubbed the ‘Book Theory’. The way I see it, time works like a book, except it's constantly being written. Throughout the pages are all the events that have happened, straight from the beginning (that is, if there was a beginning, but that's the ‘Numberline Theory’ of mine, so I'll drop the matter). Every little detail is written down, from the largest explosion to the tiniest movement of an atom. There's more to this theory than meets the eye, though.
The reason it's compared to a book is because you can jump to any part that you want (but the future may always be a random timestream, as the ‘book’ is constantly being written), BUT nothing can be changed, as there are many, many possibilities to the future, so all are written ahead of time, but it's up to the ‘author(s)’ to decide which one goes in (of course, some have a higher probability of occurring than others).
So, for arguments' sake, let's say that a ‘page’ were to be torn out. All the events that happen after that will be effected and a whole new timestream would occur (but I'm pretty sure it's an axiom).
Alright, I shall stop now.

You don't need to stop! its awesome. Whats your numberline theory?Number line Theory is that the History of the Universe never truly had a beginning, but like a number line, worked in reverse as well. Basically, there was/is a parallel Universe.
I mean, think about it: if nothing existed before the Big Bang, then how is it possible that came to be?
So glad to have interest!- doonkoo

I know! Most people, even the gifted and talented kids at my school, have no ability to comprehend this stuff. Except for one annoying boy, who thinks that there are three universes, and only three.

How am I wrong? Let me just quote Einstein: “Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity.”Plus, time is really only a perception. Time can feel like it's going slower or faster than usual, but that's just your perception changing.wrong

No, no! DEFINATELY not. Just from my understanding, I thought it would be harder is all, but I will take a look at that article. Thanks for the link.

There's nothing wrong with originality! And if the theory sounds flawed - perhaps you can help improve it by identifying the weak spots and helping to shore it up - rather than making a vague critique.I know! Doonkoo, I'm sorry to say this, but this isn't really challenging for me. It's the sort of thing I debate about every day with my friends. Of course, they always give the explanation to my questions: “God made it that way.”you shouldn't demean people's religious beliefs
Grr…

I never said his theory was wrong. I just said he was annoying.
