Gribbetonia - the evolution game
Gribbetonia: an evolution game
After a slew of experimenting with genetics, scientists have created lifeforms suited for seeding a world without any other species of animal (except coral)

LOCATIONS
Turmoil Tundra: A cold wasteland. Resources include tough lichens and fungi that can withstand its freezing cold temperatures
Glacial Sands: A rainshadow desert similar in climate to the Gobi. Resources include juicy succulents and tough lichens.
Border Mountains: A large winding mountain range that separates the glaciated, barren north from the productive and biodiverse south. Contains a large range of caves. Hardly any resources can be found within this region except for troglobiontic (cave-dwelling) algae and fungi
Belligerent Bayou: A hard to traverse yet productive quagmire connected by river inlets. Resources include toxic berries, spicy berries, algae, weeds, flowers, grains, and fruit.
Toxic Taiga: A coniferous forest characterized by its unusually high amount of radiation and toxicity. Resources include toxic berries, pinecones. spicy berries, and weeds
Fruity Forest: A highly productive jungle. Resources include fruits, toxic berries, weeds, and flowers.
Troubled Tide Sea: A large and expansive sea characterized by its susceptibility to tsunamis and tropical storms. Resources include algae, kelp, and coral.
Splashy Sea: A large and productive sea characterized by its abundance of coral reefs and kelp forests. Resources include coral, kelp, and algae.
Dustbowl Desert: A productive arid environment most similar to the Sonoran desert. Resources include succulents, toxic berries, grains, and flowers.
Savory Savannah: A salty, barren plain. Resources include grains and succulents.
Polar Plain: A large tundra spanning the entirety of the south pole. Resources include hardy lichens and grains.

You can evolve any pre existing and non extinct species on this planet, as long as they have not been recently evolved during the current epoch or created by yourself. If a species you made has not received an evolution for one epoch, then you are allowed to evolve it. Epochs last for around 20 species at max.
You cannot make severe changes to your animal, such as making something the size of a whale from an ancestor that was only the size of an ant or giving something the ability to breathe fire out of nowhere.
Speaking of size, the size of your species should range between x0.25 and x2 the original size of its ancestor species.
Species can only spread to adjacent habitats, unless they can fly or swim efficiently. The exception are intelligent species, with proper means of transport or navigation.
For the sake of simplicity, advancing the technology of an intelligent species will be done through evolving a species.
Anyone can join the game at any time or point while the game is going on! If you need help, simply ask a question.

Name: (binominal or scientific name is optional)
Ancestor:

Description:

https://cubeupload.com/im/brodydydydydydy/gribbet.jpg
Name: Gribbet (Gribbeta primus)
Ancestor: None
Habitat: Cosmopolitan
Diet: Plants, shrimpos, other gribbets if given the opportunity
Description: After a plethora of experiments relating to genetic modification, scientists have created a creature suited for seeding this world - the gribbet. The gribbet is a terrestrial, stout omnivore similar in ecology to a pig that resides cosmopolitan across Gribbetonia. Gribbets breathe using their hair-like siphon located atop their clueless heads. Despite their overall clumsiness and dim-witted nature, the gribbet is an extremely adaptive animal and can resist most ecological pressures.
Size: 1m
Timestamp: Renan Period (epoch 1)
https://cubeupload.com/im/brodydydydydydy/shrimpo.jpg
Name: Shrimpo (Shrimpus primus)
Ancestor: None
Habitat: Cosmopolitan across oceans and other bodies of water
Diet: Algae, gribbet corpses, larval shrimpos
Description: The shrimpo is one of 2 species that were created for the sole purpose of seeding the world of Gribbetonia. Shrimpos are tiny, shrimp-like omnivores that usually eat algae, although when chosen the opportunity, they can feast on about anything they encounter.
Size: Can vary from 4 ~ 12cm
Timestamp: Renan Period (epoch 1)
Here's an example of a descendant species:
https://cubeupload.com/im/brodydydydydydy/veloshrimp.png
Name: Veloshrimp (Shrimpus velonectes)
Ancestor: Shrimpo
Habitat: Troubled Tide Sea
Diet: Other smaller shrimpos
Description: This shrimpo roughly fills an ecological role similar to that of medium-size pelagic fish such as mackerel and herrings, swimming in large shoals and primarily hunting smaller shrimpos. These shrimpos are then, in turn, preyed on by opportunistic seagoing gribbets. Veloshrimp may use their claws to subdue their shrimpo prey as well as injure potential predators.
Size: 20 centimeters at max

Gribbetonia - the evolution game
https://cubeupload.com/im/brodydydydydydy/gribdig.jpg
Name: Gribdig (Gribbetus fossor)
Ancestor: Gribbet
Habitat: Border Mountains, Belligerent Bayou
Diet: Tubers, Troglobiontic fungi
Description: To cope with the loose and malleable soil of their home habitats, the Gribdig has evolved a fossorial lifestyle. Its shovel-like forelimbs have adapted to plow through the soil with ease and the opening to the siphon has significantly widened to take in more oxygen as they dig for extensive amounts of time. The Gribdig lives in large family units of up to ten individuals, related in blood or not.
