When will scratch 4 be released?

We don't know. I think all we know is that Srcath 3.0 is not finished yet as there are still Srcath 2.0 pages etc.

There was a back-end engineer thingy in the Jobs page stating that Scratch 4.0 would be in development in 2025, but it’s more likely that’s just an update to 3.0 than it being 4.0.

this is still extremely unlikely. it takes time to add new features, and we don't even know if 4.0 has started development yet

Guessing is just that- guessing.

I will say that every major version of Scratch has taken a few years to develop, so we're probably looking at 2027 (at the earliest, if they started at the beginning of this year), and probably later.

I agree, Scratch Team has to fix all the bugs popping up now before working on Scratch 4.0, so it could take several years.
