I've started a shop for BeepBox songs for video games. I won't advertise it, but I'll provide the first order form and ask how I can improve based on my two prototypes I've sent the customer. I work with their feedback to make the finished track, and I think having help from this extremely talented forum topic would help even more with making the song better.

Code_Weegee, when ordering, wrote:

What is the genre of music?: Video game (not sure if that counts as a genre)
What is the context in the game, like when it will play in the game?: It will be a battle theme for the first phase of an Undertale fan game.
How long do you want it?: 1.5-2 minutes
Please describe your vision in more detail: Please have it be more chill than the average Undertale fan game theme, but still have some energy to it, similar to “Bonetrousle” from the Undertale OST.
(Optional) Create a moodboard filled with inspiration:
Any other info? (No, we have no codeword): None

And the prototypes: here and here.
Any thoughts on how to make it better? It's going to get extended, with more instruments and melodies as time goes on. But I think it's best to ask for help at this stage. (Guitar shred slides are a staple of my BeepBox music)

Since the retro ones are simple I'd say they are the most accurate because most of the samples don't sound super realistic
However with some tweaking most stock instruments can be made to sound a lot better

yeah the pads and retro instruments are probably the most accurate, probably because they're meant to sound synthesized anyway
acoustic ones still sound synthesized so they're a bit off
