Making a scratch cat plushie
I made the old one when I wasn't as good at sewing, so the plushie was relatively simple and flat. Also, if I recall correctly, I was almost out of stuffing when I made the old plushie. I'm currently experimenting with more 3D plushies. wow the old one is so flat compared to the new one, where did all the stuffing go???

A few questions and answers:
Q: what fabric did you use to make this plushie?
A: Felt.
Q: What inspired you to make this plushie?
A: @cheddargirl's scratch cat plushie and those scratch cat plushies given out at an event
Q: How long did it take you to make?
A: if we combine the time I spent making it, around 2-3 hours probably. If you also use the time I spent not doing anything, 2 months.

The only thing I could imagine you adding now is maybe his smile, but I don't think you should do that.

You could print an image of his face and just trace that with a piece of cloth and sew it onto his face.

I actually tried doing that, but the mouth fell apart due to the felt being very thin. I think i'll try to make one using two pieces of felt soon. The only thing I could imagine you adding now is maybe his smile, but I don't think you should do that.

A crochet scratch cat would be very creative, I don't actually think I've seen a crocheted plush of scratch cat before. All the ones I've seen are made of fabric.i used to sew a lot before discovering crocheting, so i could probably get back into it. i will buy some felt off amazon hehe.If you make one, you have permission to post the plushie in this thread Omg!! when green flag clicked
ask for a scratch cat plushie
ask [do you want one] and wait
if <[scratch cat plushie] = [yes]> then
say [thanks for your advice. here is one you'd like]
give scratch cat plushie to sprite ( Cat v)
else
say [no? ok. i'll stop this now]
destroy sprite ( Cat v)
end

why does the scratch cat plush look so cute?! I've seen ones that are mass produced and more like the giant lego sculpture of scratch cat, but this one has charm.

I think it's because it's slightly off-model and has a few visible stitches. The reason the stitches were visible were because I didn't have orange thread and had to use light yellow thread. I think the visible stitches add to the charm, and give it a handmade aesthetic why does the scratch cat plush look so cute?!
