New Blocks for Displaying Text

Since I posted a topic that turned out to be a duplicate of this one, I'll just post my suggestion here again:
set text style [sans-serif v] :: pen
set text size (12) pt :: pen
set text color [#ABCDEF] :: pen
set text alignment [left v] :: pen
draw text [hello world] at x: () y: () :: pen
-snip-

As @imfh said, I think this should go in a Text extension.

I actually have an idea. What if there were separate sprites dedicated to text? Like, an actual piece of text instead of stamping text somewhere?

That is way better! With that there would be a sprite with all the text costumes in the libary for a bunch of fonts

This has actually become an experimental extension in Scratch Lab!

Support, but it may be a bit too complicated

I reccomend a setup like this:

There'd be a block like [type () at () () (Sans Serif v ).
And you'd use the drop-down to change the font.

Semi-support. I like the idea but I think the ST is actually planning to add it sometime in the future as it's an experimental feature in Scratch Lab.

Bump, and support, this could be very useful for deaf people. (I could have said ‘support’ here, but apparently, someone necroposted on that topic.)

I thought it could be like this:

I was honestly too lazy to change x, y, and size from 10

The text could change (ex. scores, displaying usernames, or different states)

the post (which was mine) that said it was a duplicate of this wasnt a duplicate of this, it had
write [text] size (10) :: pen
where the sprites location is the left edge, and the size makes the distance and size of letters be different, maybe i could add a font thing but not now

I thought about using clones for the letters but this would be too restricting and slow to deal with.
try using stamps
