Would the song "Cigarette Duet" be aloud?
titleAs long as the song does NOT contain swear words, topics about murder, dr*gs, etc. then it's allowed

it may not be allowed due to scratch being overly sensitive about the topic of cigarettes. however, using a “sensitive topic” warning it would probably be ok.

content warnings are banned, and Scratch has every right to be sensitive about addictive chemicals. Are content warnings banned in all instances? I thought the stance was that they are only banned if the content itself is also banned. I've seen content warnings for flashing lights, loud noises, etc., and I can't see any issue with those…
As for the song, it's kind of a gray area, but unless the song is actually about why smoking is bad for you, I'd err on the side of caution and choose a different song.

I think so.Dang… Can you link to a Scratch Team policy where they said this if possible? (Really sorry for derailing; I have a few projects with warnings for flashing lights and I thought those were allowed but I'd rather be safe than sorry!)

No. The first line is
It's just a cigarette and it can not be that bad. This in itself is enough to ban the song as it promotes smoking, something 8 year olds shouldn't be hearing, and their parents for sure would not like that.

This in itself is enough to ban the song as it promotes smokingIt doesn't, it's about a couple arguing about smoking, and it seems like it's against smoking

look, to settle this issue, the best way to do it would be to block out the word “cigarette”. yes, it would pretty much ruin the song, but seeing as scratch is, again, overly sensitive about the topic, it’s the only way.

Would the song "Cigarette Duet" be aloud?
Personally, I would think that this song would be perfectly okay to post on Scratch. However, a good rule of thumb is to think about whenever posting something on Scratch: would you show this to an 8-year-old? Scratch is aimed at kids ages 8 to 16 - if you wouldn't want an 8-year-old to see it, then you probably shouldn't post it on Scratch. Keep in mind when it comes to these kinds of topics, everyone has their own idea of what's appropriate, so there's always still a chance someone might report it. However, since this song is about how smoking is bad, it's probably less likely to be reported than if it was promoting and glorifying smoking and/or taken down
Hope this helped you out a little
iirc content warnings themselves are not banned, it's usually the content that gets banned. It's not that content warnings are banned, but some people assume that content warnings will prevent the projects from getting taken down. Because not all people listen to content warnings. (Sometimes, I'm one of those people).
Hope this helped you out a little

same here, although there is a small amount of worry that the project will be taken down anyways.

My guess is that if the Scratch Team would do anything, it would probably just NFE'd, but I can't say for sure. If you don't want it to get taken down, then you can not share it or use a different song.
If you share it as-is, it could get taken down, but you'd still be able to re-share it after you changed the song.
Edit: I thought you were the original poster im so stupid lol

any mentions of cigarettes or similar drugs WILL be taken down, and there is a high chance of a ban, change the song or do not share the project.same here, although there is a small amount of worry that the project will be taken down anyways.

According to some researchand by research I mean searching “smoking” on Scratch it appears mention cigarettes and alchohol actually are allowed, including in some projects that just show people smoking and don't actually say why it's bad to smoke.
But yes, when it comes to sensitive content like this, it's best to stay safe. If you do choose to include the song, you should be careful about how you're using it.

Just because a project hasn't been taken down yet doesn't mean it's allowed, I know for a fact that all mentions of drinking alchohol are banned.any mentions of cigarettes or similar drugs WILL be taken down,

From the lyrics I found, it appears to have an anti-cigarette message. As such, I feel it would probably be okay to use it.
