Ooh, tricky. Obviously the taste of mangoes. The smell of pine reminds me of swc because of where I went on vacation in the July session, and I remember drafting dailies on the balcony and just letting the smell wash over me <3 The sound of Hadestown sounds like March 2023 because that's pretty much all my friends listened to (but also the song from Ratatouille because that's what I sang for choir that month)

Ohoho, I'm not an artist. Give me an instrument, I'll master it in three weeks. Give me a pencil and I'll give you a stick figure that 1st graders could mock.

I love paintings that make you feel like you're a part of them. I don't really know another way to describe it… but ones that feel like they establish a relationship between the subject of the art itself and the viewer. I love Vermeer's paintings for that reason, especially The Milkmaid. Something about that painting I just love, and I can't put my finger on it. There's a je ne sais quoi to it (another one of my favorite words!)

Matilda, regardless of my age, always reminds me of how much reading has meant to me (and reminds me of all my power fantasies as a six year old). Ella Enchanted reminds me of a time in my life where reading pulled me out of a really hard thing (and Ella's spunk and attitude I've always related to).
I love Les Mis, and it will always be a go-to for comfort music. The 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice feels like home to me <3 And finally, Just Breathe by Pearl Jam (the lyric that's on my WIWO) is what I listen to when I need to breathe for a bit ^^

reading through all of the sherlock holmes canon is a bit difficult (all 60 stories is quite a chonker) and some are. not that good kajshdlf, so my comfort reads when i want to get a slightly more condensed, angsty (don't sue me) journey through doyle's awful, self-contradictory, messy timeline is lyndsay faye's short story collections Whole Art of Detection and Observations by Gaslight — there's just something about the funky detective guy that scratches the itch <33

Either “effervescent” or “whimsy.” They’re fun, but somehow also elegant.

I sleep in until 9am and wake up feeling well-rested, I don’t spend half an hour in bed on my phone, I get a filling breakfast and lunch, I watch something with my siblings, I make some arts and crafts, practice all my instruments, have a low screen time, and get to bed before 10.

3. Favorite album? (Alia)
Do OSTs count as an album? Because I absolutely love the Extraordinary Attorney Woo OST.

4. Favorite poem/poet? If you don't have a favorite poem/poet, favorite book/author? (Zai)
J.R.R. Tolkien, hands down. I’m sure the first thing you thought of was LOTR, but I adore all the poems his stories are filled with. Perhaps my favorite poem of all time is “The Road Goes Ever On.”

I just finished reading-reading Ella Enchanted this morning! It’s so sweet I love it <33
I have no idea what the last full movie I watched was, because every night for the past several weeks I’ve watched an episode of Gravity Falls with my family. Having an irl friend in SWC! I finally convinced my friend to join, and even though she probably won’t be the most active (she’s traveling) I hope this is the start of something <3

Umm… yes. Don’t make fun of me. I found Disney’s Broken Karaoke “Call me Mabel” and my siblings won’t stop playing it xD

I’d be that one stubby colored pencil someone stuck in the box during Arts and Crafts xD I’d probably be a peach or teal color, those feel like Summery colors to me :>

Either Breath of The Wild or Tears of The Kingdom. Probably Tears of The Kingdom. They’re both so beautiful, and I love the open world, plus the sort of roleplay vibe about them. I am HORRIBLE at fighting though. That’s another thing I like about those games. No one is forcing you to do a boss fight- you can walk away like a coward at any moment xD

10. What's that one book you've read over and over, and why? (Coco)
I listened to the audiobooks of The Penderwicks and the Ramona Quimby series a lot when I was younger to fall asleep <3

Probably my first one, the July ‘23 megasession. That was so much fun, and SWC seemed so magical back then. I think I actually got a perfect streak with the dailies.

For some reason I ate Raising Cane’s like twice and became obsessed with it. I can’t explain it. My other favorites include white chicken chili, fettuccine alfredo, and tacos.

I’m not sure if this is consistent, but I think I usually associate SWC with a light blue.

I don’t watch anime, unless Avatar The Last Airbender and Pokémon Indigo count… xD
My favorite shows include the aforementioned Gravity Falls, ATLA, Phineas and Ferb, Carmen Sandiego (the Netflix one), Crash Landing on You, and Extraordinary Attorney Woo. You can try to categorize my taste on your own lol

Warm weather, I wake up feeling rested. I drink tea and write something I’m proud of. It’d have a calm and chill mood

I don’t really listen to albums so I’m going to say ‘Cape Elizabeth’ by Noah Kahan as it’s the only album that I can think of that I’ve completely listened to

I actually reread books fairly regularly. One that I’ve probably reread more than most, or that particularly stands out to me, is Eldest by Christopher Paolini. For a long time it was the only book in the series that we owned, and we had it on kindle, too, so I guess it was easy to read haha. I can literally quote the first line from memory, but perhaps that’s because it’s particularly memorable XD

Gosh you guys are really preying on my indecisiveness….
“What Sarah Said” by Death Cab is one song I’ve been listening to a lot lately that has some of the most amazing lyrics I’ve ever heard. They just tell an amazingly detailed story and play with words in a way I haven’t really heard before in a song. Some examples of this: “I looked around at all the eyes on the ground as the TV entertained itself” — i loooove the way this line describes the emotion in the room so perfectly with just two small details. “the TV entertained itself” is such a clever way of putting it and the idea just makes the scene that much sadder. There are more examples, but this is one of my favorites.
Also it would be a crime for me not to mention a Sleeping at Last song, but there are so many lyrics of his that I enjoy… here’s one from his song “Unmade” “in our trembling fear, we put words inside God’s mouth, and we get so proud of ourselves when we get away”. I just love the simplicity and poetry in all of his lines, and this one in particular.

I don’t (although my friend did get me to watch Spy X Family and I really enjoyed it, and I watched the first few episodes of Frieren, which is GORGEOUS, but I haven’t seen anything else.) I generally tend towards fantasy or sci-fi shows, and I love some animated “kids” shows (i.e. Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Avatar: The Last Airbender, etc.) as well as some live action sci-fi shows like X-files (<333), Fringe, Agent Carter, Lost, etc.

OKay hot take but i did NOT like the Cruel Prince trilogy — i really didn’t like how every character was morally grey but also just straight up UNLIKABLE. by comparison, I feel like this was something that Six of Crows got SO RIGHT in her characterization of everyone,, they were thieves and spies and morally grey, but each of them was likable (even Kaz <3) because they seemed redeemable. whereas I just kind of hated everyone in the Cruel Prince (except I did like the spy group… don’t remember their names but they were pretty cool). and I also despised the “romance” it made me realize that i hate enemies to lovers most of the time XD the final book did somewhat redeem it, but i hated the second book so much that it wasn’t worth it. her writing style was very nice, and the worldbuilding was kind of cool?? i guess?? but…

i have my goals set on attending berkley and becoming a family lawyer, but i'll also be taking two years of pediatric nursing before that. the reason i want to become a family lawyer is because my parents are divorced, so i know how hard it is, especially for children, and i want to be a part of making that “transition” smoother for families. i would also like to help children in the foster system. ultimately, i want to help kids.

not read recently - but i feel like the kotlc series is a bit not so great. it took 9 books for sophie to get somewhere, and she always hangs out with fitz and keefe, not anyone else (also i hate fitz and keefe - i'm sorry :sob also, sophie is always either angry or sad, she's almost never happy - which i guess makes sense because of how serious everything is - but it does make the story a bit bland.

i will be out camping from june 21-23 <3 i will be significantly less active during that time, but i should still be able to check in and make sure things are running smoothly!
i may also be camping (and less active) throughout july 12-14, but i'm almost certain our trip will be cancelled due to a tournament. if that's the case, everything will be normal ;D
