English isn't traditional and simplified though - it's Standard (or International) and American
i would disagree with “international”, but yes, american english is just english (simplified), and i think even some americans will agree with that lol

actually, anyone can translate Scratch, because the ST just get people to volunteer on Transifex [source]
but you can't just add a language.

ok i guess this suggestion is basically for the ST to add a new language project
you're missing the point
the people here want there to be an option for British English on the site
also huge support

for a new language (like British English) to be added, the ST would add a new language project on Transifex

International English is the term for a dialect nearly indistinguishable from Standard English and is the most widely spoken, so labelling BE as ‘International English’ would avoid (potential) confusion when someone from outside the US and UK tries to find the correct dialect.

Why has this topic been going for over ten years without being accepted/rejected…
Also I think the ST just is stubborn about this one they don’t actually want to see British (or International) English become prominent on their site.

Support even though I'm American; would be useful for new, British Scratchers who're used to British English writing.

Did it really ever happen at all…?”
But… what about the bugs, and birds, and squirrels and rabbits and foxes and…

No. Those countries speak Standard and Australian English respectively. (Those countries also make up a very small number of English speakers: look at Nigeria or India, both of which have massive English speaking populations)

To clarify, International English is a blanket term for Standard English-derived dialects, so fits here (there's also a project I'm aware of to create a standardised ‘international’ dialect, but I don't think it's particularly active/supported).
This is a single Google search away, btw.
