can I use cloud variables to store information for external projects

Like say I made a lil game outside of scratch and then used a script that would set a cloud variable to store information. I would obviously rate limit it and as it (has to be) encoded there won't be possibilities of any sort of like TOS breaking content.

I would assume it'd be fine as long as I don't do it on a large scale (10 cloud variables aint alot, it likely would use less resources then most cloud projects)

I doubt the Scratch Team would like you doing that. Cloud variables are not intended to be changed with external tools. Some people do it, but it's not really the Scratch Team's intention for them.

What do you need to use the cloud variables for anyways? When you aren't using Scratch, there are better ways to do things than with size, speed, and encoding restricted cloud variables.

(I don't have anything else to store information with)
Storing basic information, basically what cloud variables are normally used for anyways

goofy forums did not give me notification

Could you store data with browser cookies or files instead? What language are you using and what platform? There has got to be a better solution than cloud variables.
