all things with a screen (LED, LCD, dont try to pull out the displays with 3 lights) have a gpu. integrated or not, they can run pretty well, both phones and fridges

GPUs are a dedicated unit of a computer system(not just desktop machines) that is designed to render graphics. However, graphics are not the only purpose that GPUs often are used for: GPUs can often be used for the purposes of computation, which they are very good at. This would be good for a lot of projects (especially intensive ones such as 3d engines, etc.) However, WebGPU (which is used to access GPU in web browsers) is still in early stages and some browsers don't have it fully implemented yet and it might be difficult to fully implement it for Scratch.

If you mean running scripts on the GPU, that is a lot harder than you'd think (because GPUs aren't meant to be CPUs! they're meant for pixel processing, and just mainly math). Rendering already uses the GPU.

rendering and pen use the gpu already. im yet to see a math equasion that holds scratch for over a frame mening doing this would make zero difference

nothing can use the whole gpu without it being the only thing running on the computer that outputs to a screen (or uses the gpu for complex computation)

Support if it uses WebGL as a backup if you can't use WebGPU, it would just allow for better performance

how about collabing with turbowarp, scratch has been a little ok with turbowarp, and with mods you can add turbowarp embed to projects just like it was a normal project on scratch

It was reopened, though I thought I closed it… I don't really agree with my suggestion since the benefits that WebGPU brings are not likely to bring meaningful performance benefits
