instead of ha* cover the whole word upThis isn’t Roblox, they can’t just put tags on bad words and stuff and get away with it. Pretend that “hat” is a bad word. Why is it not kid freindly? You were just saying it was too strict.a few minutes ago i saw someone say (redacted) they should just unblock some words and replace some with asterisks.
“Ha* you!” Would have the same effect as “Hat you!”

Agreed tbh. I remember at a McDonald’s I heard someone say “GET OUT OF MY WAY, (bad word)!” I’m forever traumatized
I prefer no speech over being able to scream slurs and swears in public. Just my opinion, I know some of you will disagree but it’s just my ooinion.

Snipped it for you, please remember to snipi didn’t even talk about images. im just talking about text.Free speech applies to images.
Back to topic now,Mhm and what if both of little timmy’s parents are both working at full time jobs, who don’t have the time to sit next to his computer 24/7 watching what he does and doesnt so it’s easy for him to be exposed to stuff like that? Scratch would be FULLY responsible for little Timmy leaking his address to a creep because they couldn’t censor unmoderated website. And little Timmy’s parents could probably sue scratch. Remember scratch is an EDUCATIONAL platform for KIDS and when little Timmy’s parents sign him up they expect NO LINKS to inappropriate websites like that. Be so for real.Remember, “Their talking on scratch not that site!” Is NOT a valid argument. This could happen:if some kids wants to use the internet, then they should know what to do and what not to do. otherwise that’s just bad parenting

just put a disclaimer like all websites should, and then little Timmy’s parent will teach him internet safety, which is a vital life skill.Snipped it for you, please remember to snipi didn’t even talk about images. im just talking about text.Free speech applies to images.

new idea: profanity settings. parents can enable this on their kids account to block out certain words.

Teacher: wow scratch is a cool website to teach my students coding! and it seems appropriate as well

students: *they sign up for scratch*
Teacher: okay let’s do scratch !
Student A (little timmy): ooh someone sent me a link to an unmoderated chat website server, I’m gonna click it
Teacher: Omg, this website doesn’t take action against those kinds of links? NO MORE SCRATCH!
remember, this could also throw off teachers who are considering scratch.
And besides, If people see a huge disclaimer that inappropriate links are allowed here and parents need to teach internet safety, the parents in question would probably be suspicious of it anyways and not let their kids on scratch. And what if a child had neglective parents? HM?

Rejected as per TOLORS. Well, it’s not the exact same but I’m pretty sure it’d fall under this:new idea: profanity settings. parents can enable this on their kids account to block out certain words. That's kinda rejected. Someone do the quote.
7.2 A 13+ version of the Scratch website or age-restricted contentScratch is designed for ages 8 to 16, but any content shared on the website must be appropriate for all ages. Dividing the community by making a separate, age-restricted website would not be helpful. Potential restrictions from entering the website (such as a warning, or requiring a parent to answer math equations) would not necessarily stop an underage child from entering the 13+ website.
This suggestion extends to age-restricting anything on Scratch, such as viewing specific projects or accessing specific Scratch features. As a general rule, Scratch is for all ages, and content shared on the Scratch website should be appropriate for all ages.

why does this have lots of postsbecause apparently it’s hard to fathom that kids exist on scratch and should not be exposed to inappropriate stuff and links to unmoderated chat website

No it’s different, that’s suggesting to choose certain words to censor, this is suggesting that stuff like unmoderated chat website should not be censored but someone can choose for it to be censored. (I think)new idea: profanity settings. parents can enable this on their kids account to block out certain words.Wait, wasn’t this suggested before?
