hello everyone, I was just wondering if what possible to maybe make money on scratch with enough followers and projects. Don't you think a guy like griffpatch at least deserves a little money?

It is not possible to make money directly using Scratch. Those who use Scratch should do so for the sake of interest, not because they want to make money from it.

Where would this money come from? Scratch Team has no money and gains no money from projects. Griffpatch does not deserve money from scratch

Well technically if you get popular enough you could probably monetize a youtube channel (as griffpatch might be doing for his youtube channel, and for sure for his Scratch business)

Yeah, that's true which is why I added the “technically”. It is still based off Scratch, though, and is something I suppose you could look into, OP. The likelihood is low, though.

They don't have money to give to scratchers. That would cause donations to inversely sky rocket. Also in the OP it says “Griffpatch should earn some money”. I was objecting to that statement

Well, he's lying.

To be clear, griffpatch is making money off of Scratch with his new academy.

The ST uses a lot of their money to manage the site - not enough to give to Scratchers.

You are technically allowed to sell scratch projects, but you can’t do it on the scratch website.

The closest you can get to earning money on Scratch is either using it to earn money, but not directly earning money from scratch or via income to the ST, such as donations or jobs.

Practically speaking, no, but you can monetize your projects by uploading them on YouTube or other services

Not directly on Scratch, but you could monetize a scratch yt (it's not that easy to monetize with a smaller genre though)
