I tried making it so that when a clone is made a list would update, and so on as clone moves. the only problem is that scratch only responds when the list is part of the main code if it is not from the when I start as clone block. Please fix this.

Is the list set to “this sprite only”? If so, then each clone has their own private copy of the list which you can't see because it doesn't effect the main sprite- and therefore the list you see on your screen.
