As stated above, Scratch is a coding community, which means people code. But I don't understand why you could make a studio that talks about a certain book after everybody reads it every few days or so. And to give it anttention:

As stated above, Scratch is a coding community, which means people code.
so? Scratch is not just a coding community, and besides, how come we have a whole profile system? that has nothing to do with coding.

as other users have said, proposing a studio to be featured is available, and you can also visit the things i'm reading and playing forum to discuss individual books. but i do see why this would be wanted, because featured studios aren't featured forever, and the forums aren't used by every single scratcher out there. i really, really like the idea of a scratch team-hosted studio that's easily accessible for discussion of books, but i unfortunately must say no support, because as #8 mentioned, moderating this sort of thing would be really hard, because lots of books out there aren't appropriate for the website. it's certainly possible, but it'd only work well if the moderation team was expanded, and a scratch team approved list of books is created. both would be really hard to do, and would probably make the scratch team's already busy schedule more complicated.

Welcome to the forums!
I love this idea!
I'm a book nerd too (as you can see in my signature the quote; it's a good one and yes it's not from a book)
But unfortunately, I don't think Scratch has the necessary moderation to moderate something like this - there are some inappropriate books out there that aren't for a website like this.
Also, as explained above, Scratch isn't really a place for discussing about books; so you should probably stick with coding for this one.
(Please note I am not a Scratch Team Moderator and this is my opinion.)

For DangerPuppy10:Are you talking about his signature? He isn't advertising, that is what shows up below all of his posts. Not much support, since you could just make your own studio and invite people you would like. Also, may be hard to moderate this. Even if there is a section for appropriate books, people could still do other books.
