New Option for Reports
I think that the only 3-4 options we have when we are reporting is not okay. I think that there should be an option for other to let people have an additional way to report. This is because when I tried to report an account because they were not folllowing Community Guidelines, I couldn't find anything to help support my case. I was doing this because some scratchers found a couple pieces of code that allows them to block other scratchers from playing their game. This additional other option would help scratchers give them a chance that would help them explain their report even better.
Thank you and please add this option!
Sincerely,
Javax90

Although I agree that this would be a good feature, I'm sure Za-Chary or paddle2see are going to say “Just use reports on the comments” or somehting like that.

Misconceptions about the Scratch Room
* Low floor: It should be easy to climb in and get started with Scratch - even for Scratchers who have no experience programming. - This does NOT mean complex things shouldn't be added. Making the ceiling higher or the walls wider doesn't make the floor harder to get on.
* Wide walls: Scratchers should be able to make all kinds of things with Scratch - not just animations and games, but news programs, science experiments, things we can't even imagine. - Wide walls means that some things that may be unconventional or odd or “useless” at first glance may still be worthwhile to add, because some people may find them useful for making new unique things.
* High Ceiling: Even though it's easy for someone who is new to programming to get started with Scratch, it should still be possible to make complex stuff. - Although the floor is there, many forumers just look up at the ceiling rather than thinking about the floor. They say “this would be too complicated, new Scratchers wouldn't understand it” without considering the fact that it can be worked up to with the handy floor we have.

Thats exactly what you should do. I'm sure Za-Chary or paddle2see are going to say “Just use reports on the comments” or somehting like that.
Report it in context rather than through a link, as it saves mod time.
Don’t report the account, report the offending content, except for the 4 pre-existing exceptions.

Yes, you should if that's what is the offender here. However there is a glitch where you can feature unshared projects on your profile and you can make the thumbnail for the project something really bad, and, there is no way to report the project itself since its unshared but there isn't an option to report it for the featured project. I think an “other” option where you fill in a textbox as your reason for reporting profiles would be great also. Although I agree that this would be a good feature, I'm sure Za-Chary or paddle2see are going to say “Just use reports on the comments” or somehting like that.

In that case I think it would be better to fix the unshared featured projects glitch instead of making an official report option for it. Even if it was just an “other” option with a text box, people would just use that to report a profile for “breaking the community guidelines” or “being mean,” etc., when — as you correctly stated — they should be reporting the bad comments directly.Yes, you should if that's what is the offender here. You know those fake report options like “I don't like this project.” It would be a good idea if they added those in as well so they know that they can report comments. Fixing the glitch also would help but it could also anger a few scratchers, you can also follow a bunch of studios with one large letter as the thumbnail to spell out something bad in your followed studios section as a workaround if this ever gets fixed. In that case I think it would be better to fix the unshared featured projects glitch instead of making an official report option for it. That's a good idea. I wonder if its usefulness would be limited, though, if an “other” option existed. But I suppose that's for the Scratch Team to decide. You know those fake report options like “I don't like this project.” It would be a good idea if they added those in as well so they know that they can report comments.
At the end of the day, it's a glitch — fixing glitches to the anger of some other Scratchers has been done by the Scratch Team before. Fixing the glitch also would help but it could also anger a few scratchers,

I'm just sending the suggestion because this feels like one of the best possible ways to get rid of annoyingly having to make sure the report is in the right section. Because if it isn't you have to tell the reporter about it. And that can take days! So, with the other option (with a “Please Specify” message), it will make things SO much easier then anything else.
Thank you for reading this.

An other option is rejected:
7.15 “Other” option for reporting profiles
An “other” option for reporting profiles used to exist, but the Scratch Team found that Scratchers would often use it to report comments and projects. It is much easier for the Scratch Team to find inappropriate comments and projects if they were reported directly. To report something inappropriate about the profile that is not listed under the given options, contact the Scratch Team using Contact Us.

finally back on scratch
There is definitely a feature on Scratch where if you don't follow me, a penguin will come to your house and eat all your food and blow up your fridge.

Yeah, I think it's best to open a ticket to Contact Us for this suggestion. An “other” option for reports is rejected anyway (see the post above.)
