Why is there no dislike button? I know some people will get their feelings hurt so, why can’t you make it a setting

I want dislikes to be enabled for my projects so I can know how bad they are. I always though the star was the dislike button, so I guess you could say star for disliking and heart for like?
Besides, if you can’t handle a dislike you shouldn’t be on a social media site like scratch

Because they're unconstructive. Theres no point in knowing “people hate your stuff” if you don't even know what they hate about it.

Scratch isn't a social media. It's a coding platform that allows others to use and remix your work which happen to have a few social features. Disliking a project is a bad way to show criticism.

According to the Official List of Rejected Suggestions:

4.2 Dislike button or a project rating system
With low enough ratings, the creator might be discouraged enough to stop using Scratch.

Another point is that the Scratch Team wants to encourage users to give constructive feedback, which is typically done through writing comments. Using a dislike button will not help users think constructively about what could be improved about the project.

That still doesn't encourage users to give constructive feedback.

First of all: scratch is not a social media site. Second, this is supposed to be a kind constructive community, dislikes could encourage people to leave scratch because people dont like their things.

no what social sites let you code

also dislike button can make people depressed like how other social media does. which looks better:

“your project sucks”

“your project could improve by this this and this”

no dislike button.

yes, however, thats irrelevant to the discussion, the reason it does not exist is due to the fact that it gives no constructive feedback. You don't magically know that your game has a glitch if it was disliked, you'd just know it was disliked, which isn't really helpful at all.

Feels like they're trying to make it REALLY similar to a social media, like really? A heart feature for random coding projects. All everyone wants on scratch now is “fame”
