Why is it Scratch CAT?
Why is it Scratch Cat and not Scratch Dog?
Let's think.
Maybe the creator of Scratch just really likes cats more than other animals!
Or, it could be something else…

Why is it Scratch CAT?
“We know that lots of people like cats, and there's a natural connection between cats and scratching.”

It wasn't meant to be a poll, I just asked a question

Why is it Scratch CAT?
That is true, but it might not be the reason it is a cat. It's still a possibility, though!

I understand your point, but even if it wasn't intended as a poll, asking “Why is it Scratch Cat and not Scratch Dog?” can still generate responses akin to a poll, as it solicits various opinions or guesses. It wasn't meant to be a poll, I just asked a question

Why is it Scratch CAT?
I mean, cats are generically calming, and Scratch, depending on how you look at it, is mostly calming.

Cats are the better species and also resemble how we often watch something durign programming similar to how Cats often do the opposite.

Why is it Scratch CAT?
Because the Scratch Team is secretly a group of cats taking over the world!
I believe Za-Chary is right, the mascot was from the name.

But that's literally why… mres was literally a Scratch Team member and was one of the people who created Scratch That is true, but it might not be the reason it is a cat. It's still a possibility, though!
Opinionated :P Cats are the better species and also resemble how we often watch something durign programming similar to how Cats often do the opposite.

I don't think this falls under a poll in this case, they are asking a genuine question, and just using a comparison with Scratch Dog. They could have said “Why not a lemur?” The main question here is “Why Scratch Cat?”, not “Why not Scratch Dog?”.Part of it seems to be formatted like a poll, though……No, that seems like a genuine question to me.I understand your point, but even if it wasn't intended as a poll, asking “Why is it Scratch Cat and not Scratch Dog?” can still generate responses akin to a poll, as it solicits various opinions or guesses.
