Hello everyone ! My name is Jas, short for Jasper, or Niamh, and my friends call me Ivy. I’m a girl and use she/her pronouns ! I’m a demiromantic asexual cisheteromantic <3 I have a grand old age of fifteen, my birthday having been twenty-five days ago. I’m an incredibly silly person who is usually known around SWC for my love of Marissa Meyer and cinnabuns ! This is my seventh session of SWC and I’m very excited to be participating this time around as SWC is one of my favourite things in the world.
At the moment I’m very invested in the game team fortress 2, the band BABYMETAL, the series the Lunar Chronicles and the show Ninjago, but some of my other fandoms are Zelda, Star Trek, Marvel, Firefly, Hamilton, etc ! I’m an artist and almost-published author, I love reading, dancing, archery, volleyball, and I’ll be starting fencing classes this March !
My favourite genre is dystopian and/or sci-fi, but I also really enjoy fantasy and thriller, as well as playscripts. I’m a big choir kid and theatre aficionado who plays guitar and sings, and I’m also friends with a Hamilton actress at the moment!
I can be a major fictional character simp and get intensely lost in my imagination, but I also have a very great not-exactly-a-boyfriend who I love a lot.
I have, weirdly, two fluent first languages, English and Spanish, which I learned at the same time. However, I am also learning ASL (which I know a great deal of), Japanese, Russian and Latin primarily, and as sides I’m learning Dutch, German, French, Ukrainian and Chinese. I have a very big love of creating conlangs, I’ve created one that I’ve developed quite a bit, one which I’m planning to expand even more during the course of this writing camp ! I also have three others as side projects.
I’m a very big aficionado of fonts, axolotls, pluto being a planet, animation, game design, and mechanical pencils. Another fact about me is that I am seriously running out of ideas for expanding this to a thousand words. Anyways, more about me.
I learned to read when I was two and started my interest in writing full novels when I was six or so. My first book crush was Gilbert Blythe or Seth from the Sky Chasers Trilogy by Amy Kathleen Ryan. My favourite bands are Paramore, TV Girl and BABYMETAL. My music taste is highly eclectic and goes all over the place, so I couldn’t tell you what I like, but I’m specifically into German synth pop and Japanese female-fronted heavy metal!
I love the 1920s and 1950s, and my main female role model is Audrey Hepburn ! Almost all of my daily fashion and styles are inspired by her, and I’m rewatching the childhood movies I watched. My favourite so far has been Breakfast at Tiffany’s ! Some of my other inspirations include Amelia Earheart, Elizabeth Blackwell, Suzuka Nakamoto, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Stirling, Philippa Soo, Marissa Meyer, Joan Jett, Rita Moreno, Shan Ako, and Jennifer Geller ( who I am friends with !! ). I can tell you a lot about the 1920s and 1930s, especially Chicago, France, and Russia at those times. I LOVE Arthurian legend, Norse, Greek, Roman, etc mythology, cryptids, mythical creatures, pirates, steampunk, & the French Revolution.
My favourite mythical creatures are selkies and fae. My favourite colour is seafoam green, as well as rich purple, vibrant red, pistachio green, mint green, periwinkle blue, midnight blue, dark red, and navy blue. My least favourite colour is chartreuse, and I am deeply sorrowful that it exists. First of all, chartreuse sounds like the name of a rich red colour. And the colour itself is immensely disgusting, like baby poop. Some of my favourite colour combos are beige, blue, and brown, watermelon pink and neon green, black, white and purple, and orange and cream.
As for my writing, I’ve written a sci-fi dystopian novel called Captive Roses ! I’ll self-publish it on Kindle Direct Publishing soon ! It’s a novel where there’s an underground organization which takes innocent children off the streets, wipes their memories, and trains them as assassins–glorified hitmen. One of them, Yolanda, kidnaps Miles, who is the best friend of Czara, an orphaned thief, in order to swap places with him. The story unravels as Czara seeks a way to get her friend back, while the main characters also meet other characters, and thus the story unravels, each of the main characters’ stories being affected by Blood Rose. In case you were curious, the character names are Czara, James, Jake, Selene, Michael, Yolanda, and Miles. I love them all but I am determined to torture them in every way I possibly can. I’ve had a lot of fun creating their world over the past couple of years, and I plan for this project to be a series. I also hope to potentially write other series set in the same universe, perhaps retellings too :eyes: but anyhow it’s a very fun project that I’ve poured my heart and soul into and I am SO excited for its initial release!
Oh dear. I’m running out of ideas. All right, here we go… I will now begin listing some of my favourite shows and characters and whatever I can come up with. Some of my favourite shows include Chuck, Eureka, Fringe, Parks and Recreation, The Office, The Good Place, Ninjago, Trollhunters, Firefly, Star Trek especially Deep Space Nine, Andor, Loki, WandaVision, Miss Marvel, Moon Knight, The Grand Tour, Warehouse 13, the Librarians, The Rookie, Dollhouse, SeaQuest, the Orville, Ergo Proxy, LEGO Monkie Kid, Lego Friends, Spirit: Riding Free, Robozuna, The Deep, Arrested Development (although i am quite worried for the writers and actors involved), Last Man Standing, The Big Bang Theory, Cheers, et cetera. I like… quite a few books as well. So I’ll simply list ones I read recently and enjoyed. Mosquitoland, Winter Soldier: Cold Front, The Scorpion Rules, My Favorite Band Does Not Exist, Iron Cast, The Diviners, and The False Prince series all being ones I’ve enjoyed recently! Well, with that done… I think I’ve finally hit my goal 0: this is going off to a good start of SWC!
