In the forums, change "New to Scratch" to "New Scratcher"
I gotta say, I'm not convinced. For as long as I can remember (all the way back to 2018), “New to Scratch” and “New Scratcher” mean the same thing.bruh I had to delete my link-to-quote bc grumpy filterbotI'm sure I've seen it before.I think “New to Scratch” and “New Scratcher” don't align exactly—I think I've seen Scratchers marked “New to Scratch” on the forums before, which is probably why it's different on the forums. Are you sure it isn't just a Mandela effect? I don't think I've seen that before other than it being a visual bug.

New to Scratch infers the users, well, new to Scratch, while New Scratcher infers the accounts a new account.
Sure, neither works all the time, but plenty of users are still New Scratchers.

That's literally my question. I would like to know how others could possibly get confused as they mean the exact same thing.I dont really see how anyone could get confused with “New Scratcher” and “New to Scratch”Even if you don't confuse ‘New to Scratch’ with ‘New Scratcher’ maybe some others can

(#20)I did check, but I can't find the link. It was a while ago; the person in question is probably a Scratcher now.Did you check their profile to make sure and if so, can you send me a link or proof? It's probably just a false memory.I'm sure I've seen it before.snipsnip

I find it somewhat confusing due to how it's worded, in a sense. Semi support, its good but it still coveys the message they are new to scratch. It's consistent with the rest of the website; that's why the ST should implement this suggestion. Can you explain why you only semi-support?

irrelevant, trivial, useless. the ST has better things to change than the already clear wording on some rank.
i literally never even noticed it. suggestions like these are made just for the sake of being made.
“bbut the inconsistency!1!1!” your problem. if it's not broken, don't fix it. i don't get why we need these changes that are only ever considerable good because some users like the way it looks.
the most confusion someone can get from this is “huh I wonder why on my profile it says New Scratcher and on the forums it says New to Scratch”. there is no harm in leaving the wording like this, other than triggering the perfectionism of some forumers.

The only reason the ST will ever implement this suggestion is to pretend that they listen to their users by adding these quick effortless things.Semi support, its good but it still coveys the message they are new to scratch. It's consistent with the rest of the website; that's why the ST should implement this suggestion. I rather agree with this. It's a pointless, not really needed change. I'm not against it, if they really aren't different though. I am perfectly happy with pointless changes if they have the time.

There's pretty much no point to this.
There isn't really a point in changing “new to scratch” to “new scratcher” either.

Did you know how “New to Scratch” appears instead of “New Scratcher” in a post a New Scratcher made? There's pretty much no point to this. It's confusing and it could throw off some users. Instead, make it say “New Scratcher” like it does on profiles.
I don't think anybody ever got thrown off by “New to Scratch” or “New Scratcher” — worse case scenario they notice it, not get confused by it
