This, combined with API costs, combined with the potential for it to say something inappropriate (AI has no filter, as it has no idea what that even is), Is why I don't support. Someone could as how to do a CG bypass, and it could tell you.

If you're struggling with coding, there's millions of tutorials online (and on Scratch) that can help you

surprised it took me this long to respond to this topic, considering yknow

I don't know why you needed to quote me on it but I definitely agree.

I think AI blocks in Scratch would be a good idea. It has tons of potential, plus the AIs are pretty well-censored nowadays anyway. Cost will be a real problem however.
Ehh, you'd be surprised. What potential are you thinking of? The Scratch Team can't just use ChatGPT, it sucks at using Scratch.

No support! ChatGPT can be broken or give misinformation! (Plus it costs money to use the API)

bypassing ai filters is extremely easy to the point where i have done it on c.ai numerous times, not even wanting to. even it’ll they were to censor it, they would have to scour the internet for popular slang words with inappropriate meanings. it would also need a context filter, which is also incredibly hard to make

This simply doesn't seem like a good idea to me. ChatGPT and other AI tools, while they seem to be well-moderated, are still exceptionally easy to break. I've gotten ChatGPT to say something that clearly violates its own moral standards more than once, even on accident. There are a million more problems I could go into here, but this is the most pressing. ChatGPT cannot be safely added to a kid-friendly website without some bad stuff happening. Simple as that.

Well, i've never used it so that makes sense.

the “Speak” blocks are pointless, have you ever heard of the “Text to speech” extension?

Will there be moderation on these blocks? ChatGPT can potentially say something bad to someone that is a child. And as far as I know, there aren't any TTS software, unless you use another AI.

Besides the cost reasons and being able to jailbreak the AI. this would get scratch blocked in schools because ChatGpt is blocked in many schools to stop kids from cheating. If this was added you would be able to use this to write essays or stuff like that, the schools, looking at this new way to cheat, will block scratch. now how bad is this? Well there are approximately 130,930 schools in the US, and I guess 2/5 of schools block ChatGpt, 2/5s of 130930 is 52372 there is an average of 526 kids per school, 526 times 52372 is 27547672 kids unable to use, while this is just an estimate, this would be very bad.

Jobs.
When you make an AI, you choose a job.

How many AI games are there on Scratch? Not very many? If so, this wouldn't be very useful….

No support for 2 reasons:

1. AI might say stuff that scratch team does not agree with and scratch would have to be accountable for what the AI says if added.
2. How would this help make scratch better?

No support. How would the ST make sure that nobody uses ChatGPT for inappropriate reasons or for cheating irl?

Would you have to link your ChatGPT account? That would require you to have a phone number or google account.

No, artificial intelligence (AI) does not have feelings. AI systems, including the ones based on advanced models like GPT-3, lack consciousness, self-awareness, and subjective experiences. They process information and generate responses based on patterns learned from vast amounts of data, but they do not possess emotions, desires, or personal experiences.

While AI can be designed to recognize and respond to human emotions, such as in the field of affective computing, these responses are programmed and do not reflect genuine emotional experiences. AI systems are fundamentally different from living beings in terms of consciousness and subjective awareness. They operate based on algorithms and data, devoid of personal feelings or consciousness.
HMMMM……
ok the “job” feature does not do anything because this is scratch.

Integrating a sophisticated language model like ChatGPT would typically require API access and a more advanced programming environment. If Scratch has expanded its capabilities or integrated new features since my last update, it's worth checking the official Scratch documentation or community forums for the latest information.
so like. this would be super hard to implement.

No way. GPT3 costs like .0002 cents per token, or 750 words. Considering the fact theres roughly 750 thousand coment creator in scratch, that will add up fast. Ignoring that, and issues with chatgpt bypassing, how would it fit into scratch? Other then infinite games, there are not many unique gamees I've seen with AI intergation.

More evidence coming up.

I asked ChatGPT what shimmer does in terraria, a well known game with a question concerning a feature covered by several websites, and it gave me two responses. The first one claimed it did not exist at all, and the second one claimed it made the character glow. I dont think that ChatGPT or other AI would be right for Scratch for this, and previous stated reasons.

This would be a good point of evidence. However, chat gpt can not see information past january 2022. However, shimmer was added in september 2022. This does bring up the point AI does make some stuff up just to be “correct” sometimes.
