Recently I've been making a project and in it is a color-select for different patterns. I have all 39 patterns, colored in red, and I'm using

set [color v] effect to (0)

I'm trying to use color effect and brightness effect to make 16 colors, the classic ROY G BIV as well as brown, white, light gray, dark gray, and black. However, I can't get color or brightness effect to give me a gray hue on the patterns. Can someone help with my dilemma?

Like what do you mean? Do you want a greyish hue on the blocks then use the color editor and put 55 colors 9 saturation and 44 brightness toy around with the brightness until you get what you want.

I want to have only 39 costumes for the different patterns, and use a color effect block to change the main color (red). But I need to have gray and when I use color and brightness I can only get a really light shade of red. Is it possible to fix this?

This may help depending on what you want in your project.

You could make a second copy of all your patterns in the costume editor, and recolour/fill them with black instead of red.
Then the “set brightness effect to …” will produce grays.

to make it B&W use this:

set [color v] effect to ((1)/(0))
