Bugs and Glitches Forum Guide
This topic is about the Bugs and Glitches Forum. Feel free to try to make this topic a sticky!
What is the Bugs and Glitches Forum?
The Bugs and Glitches is a forum where people post some glitches or bugs they would like to be fixed. Unlike most forums, the Bugs and Glitches forum is only designed for one type of post: reporting bugs and glitches found in the Scratch program.
There are not many reported bugs and glitches about the Scratch Forums. However, bugs such as Scratchers having “0 posts” when they've posted on the forums, and topics having “0 views” are commonly reported in this forum.
Activity
The Bugs and Glitches forum has been quite active since the release of Scratch 3.0, as with a new program and website code comes new issues. Some popular topics about the Semicolon Glitch and Disappearing Text Bug had many responses.
Scratch Team members commonly check the Bugs and Glitches forum. This is to find any bugs which are being reported and show them to the developers. The Scratch Team encourages users to click the globe-like icon in the forum post editor. This gives the user their browser and operating system, which helps the Scratch Team fix the bug.
Bugs
As Scratch is a site designed for new programmers, many projects have been found to contain numerous bugs. This is not to be confused with bugs within Scratch itself.
A bug, also known as a glitch, is a mistake or abnormality in computer software that is not intended by the developers of the software. It arises from errors in programming and can be fixed through software updates.
Common Issues
Scratch is being slow
This is mainly due to the spike in activity from March. People got bored in quarantine, and decided to return to Scratch to pass the time. This causes more server lag and therefore slows down the site. The Scratch Team introduced some measures, like rounded stats numbers and a Load Comments button which was removed in August.
My thumbnails won't show up
If you recently saved your project, which automatically changes the thumbnail, due to server traffic (explained above), it can take a few minutes or even hours for the changes to take place. You can fix this by doing a hard refresh with the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R.
My project won't save/load
This can be caused by:
·Slow internet connection - download it
·A large file exceeding the file limit (10MB) - Delete or compress the file
·Switching accounts in a seperate tab - Open a new tab and switch back
I can't add someone to my studio
This is because:
·They haven't verified their email - Ask them to verify it
·They have already been invited - Ask them to accept the invitation you already sent
I got muted/banned for no reason
This most likely happened to you if you're a New Scratcher. The filterbot plugin is very sensitive to New Scratchers as they haven't gained trust yet and can be seen as potential trolls.
I can't use cloud variables
Just like the issue above, this is most likely to occur if you're still a New Scratcher, as the filterbot doesn't trust them with cloud variables (explained above).
Scratch doesn't work on Internet Explorer
Microsoft discontinued Internet Explorer after the release of IE11. This means many programs, including Scratch, dropped support for it.
Luckily, they replaced it with a new “Edge” browser, so you can use Scratch on it, as well as Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari.
I keep getting studio messages after unfollowing the studio
This is because you're a curator or manager. Luckily, you can remove yourself.

If you're accepting posts to add, add mine: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/7260183/
Also make it link to the posts.
Edit: Please add mine to actually make this a directory and not just a guide.
Edit 2: You can copy this as a base for a new reply to your topic:
Edit 3: Wait, one already exists. Edit 4: nvm about one already existing

A directory is a topic with links to topics in that forum, not just a guide. For instance, a directory for Bugs and Glitches would contain links to a bunch of topics in Bugs and Glitches.
This is a really helpful guide, though, and the Scratch Team seems to think the same as they stickied it. Maybe swap “directory” for “guide” in the title.

I don't think that should be an issue. There shouldn't be inactive bugs on this list.I would recommend having posts linking to the topics if you are going to list them.I feel like people might try to necropost though.
