This policy has some reasons, including the fact that FNaF is inherently violent, so it's hard to make appopriate projects that reference the game

Tell me why scratch is so strict
frankly, the st does not give a damn if you or other people enjoy fnaf.
other kids that are scared by the franchise (that are more likely to be on scratch, since it is a kids site) will get scared by those projects.
if you're making a fnaf-like game, make sure you include a jumpscare warning and don't make it obvious that it's based off fnaf

Jumpscare warnings do not affect whether a project is rated as if you're making a fnaf-like game, make sure you include a jumpscare warning and don't make it obvious that it's based off fnafNFE or not

school districts has banned scratch due to fnaf projects scaring kids + parents complaining about their kids getting nightmares from them, something like that. st doesnt wanna risk that happening again so they nfe’d most projects relating to fnaf, and dont allow jumpscare

Jumpscares are not allowed, regardless of warnings, and hiding the fact that it's based on FNaF could possibly either result in a lack of proper credit or a project that doesn't appear scary but in reality, is, tricking people into viewing it. if you're making a fnaf-like game, make sure you include a jumpscare warning and don't make it obvious that it's based off fnaf
Just don't try to emulate FNaF unless you can take away the scary parts. One such example is this project, which appears to have FNaF-esque gameplay but also follows the guidelines.

Scratch has to be very careful, as they are a website that has a bunch of children interacting over the internet. Moderation has to be strict and precise, otherwise Scratch itself could get blocked from school websites or even worse, sued. FNaF projects were getting scratch blocked from schools, so the ST had to do something about it.

Well, that's part of the reason.
The main reason that schools block Scratch is because students and teachers view and use it as a gaming platform and not a coding platform.

Scratch is made for kids 8 and up so projects have to be made with them in mind.

Also it also applies to other stuff
so for example you got a cartoon with an gun (not a toy gun)
and then you want to upload it to scratch and then
scratch takes it down because its not treating everyone with respect
but you thought it makes no sense as some cartoons have guns in their shows
and they don’t contain any gory stuff or whatsoever
but then you saw it
so scratch has to be strict to keep everything family friendly
even if something is already family friendly enough
the reason why some cartoons have guns is because those are old not new as it’s probably allowed back then

It’s fine to use Scratch as a gaming site, if not they’d disable sharing.

Yeah but schools don't want people to play games during class.

The ST does not allow horror games. It's breaking the CG. The reason why FNaF was banned on Srcath is because it is too scary for 8 year olds and parents complaining about it, in a nutshell. Yeah, but that isn’t the reason why FNaF is banned

why is scratch so strict in fnaf and other scary games?
Half of the fnaf games on scratch were banned not because they were against the community guide lines, but rather some people who just don't like fnaf keep mass reporting and using the fact that it is fnaf-themed as a reason. The scratch bot just deletes it because anything fnaf is considered too scary, whether or not it is, to not take the risk of something which is actually bad appearing. The ST doesn't care to much on the guide lines, if it isn't hated, or 99% of platformers would be banned for using banned methods to become popular. I can understand it somewhat, for some sneaking 16+ things in. But it is still a bad thing considering that most are perfectly fine.

1. this is a necropost, the question was already definitively answered. 2. this is all false information. The only moderation bot is the multi-report bot which only bans people for 90 minutes at most and leaves the project for human review. No permanent action is taken by robots and if the project isn't up it is directly because a HUMAN moderator reviewed it and determined it is not OK for Scratch.
3. Fnaf is most definitely not for 8 year olds and 90% of FNAF isn't safe enough for Scratch because of this.

Shocking and scary content is not allowed on Scratch for being too disturbing for Scratch's young audience, which has led to “multiple school districts” blocking access to Scratch.
Remember that Scratch is meant to be safely browsable for 8-year-old children, so even if you put warnings on your content, it must be appropriate for all ages.

Will all Five Nights at Freddy’s and similar content be unshared? It is a blacklisted search term, meaning FNAF projects aren't searchable, but they're still allowed as long as they follow the Community Guidelines.
No. We’ll only unshare content that violates our Community Guidelines. For example: An emulation of or conversation about Five Nights at Freddy’s containing any of the elements described above is not okay.
