BADGES - FOR 4.0

Appears rejected, there's not enough info though.

The Official List of Rejected Suggestions, Top Sticky by Za-Chary wrote:

8.2 Add a rank above Scratcher or allow users to skip the New Scratcher status
There are three ranks: New Scratcher, Scratcher, and Scratch Team. The only reason the New Scratcher rank exists is to prevent spam, and since it only takes a few weeks to become a Scratcher, bullying and separation are rather minimal. Similarly, the Scratch Team rank exists so users know who is on the Scratch Team; generally, Scratch Team members do not brag about the Scratch Team rank. In contrast, there may be division in the community between Scratchers and those with a higher rank, which could also lead to bragging and bullying. This also includes a “verified Scratcher” status where well-known Scratchers get a special symbol next to their name.

Although the restrictions for New Scratchers may seem annoying, they are extremely effective against spam and inappropriate content. For New Scratchers who are wondering how to become a Scratcher or what it means to be one, check out this post. The Scratch Team will not allow any accounts to “skip” the New Scratcher status, even if it is an alternate account of an existing account.

8.8 Scratch achievements
Some users have suggested Scratch achievements such as “Created 50 projects” with the idea that this would give users motivation to keep using Scratch. However, this sort of idea does not really fit in with the purpose of Scratch. Some users may use their achievements to determine that they are “better” than other users. However, you are allowed to make achievements in your own games, if you like.

that still counts.
EDIT: Atleast judging how I read it, “achievements in your own games if you like.” - That means the rejection is vaguely extending to project achievements.

BADGES - FOR 4.0

So is it like roblox badges? I think that wouldn't be very great since people can spam give players a bunch of badges (roblox makes you pay robux to make badges so they can't be spammed like that, but scratch doesn't have currency so I don't know how that will work)

I don't think making people look more important goes with the community guidelines. Doesn't it say everyone is equal?

Not to mention that digital money is also rejected

Za-Chary wrote:

8.7 Digital currency or money blocks
Some form of digital currency which allows you to “buy” Scratch features (with real or fake money) would not really benefit the educational value of Scratch; after all, there is not really anything that you can buy. While there could be features that are only unlockable via digital currency, this does not really contribute to Scratch's purpose of being a programming language available for everyone. However, you can make digital currency in your own projects

I don't think so, there probably wouldn't be space to fit them in somewhere.
I'm pretty sure this suggestion is rejected too:

No support, this would facilitate bragging and literally contradicts multiple rejected suggestions.

4.0 will not be released - well, it will, but not until JavaScript gets deprecated, and that isn't going to happen soon.

BADGES - FOR 4.0

I feel like there is a problem people are overlooking here… Someone may obtain a badge they don't like, like maybe someone opens a project and receives a badge that says “Loser” with the description “This user is one of the largest losers in scratch, don't follow them”. Assuming this is like Roblox badges where the last few badges are displayed on your profile, and if you hit the arrow button then it will show all of the other badges the user has, this could lead to moderation issues.

Another thing that might happen is someone tries a project and receives a badge something to the effect of “Go follow cringeuser123!” or “Heart and star cringeproject!”. I feel like badges could lead to a lot of problems. The worst part would be that users couldn't really do anything about it, even if there is some “report badge” button. this would make the ST's job harder because they have one more thing that needs to be reviewed.

Can people stop seriously trying to make scratch become a 2D roblox. The fact it stays on your profile could lead to really bad things, let's just say images of scratch cat are beyond horrible and basically illegal in most countries. Let's just say if I create a bunch of badges with images of scratch cat on them and put it into a innocent looking game and right when they click the green flag, they get all the badges with the image of scratch cat on them. It's now stuck on their profile and now they are exposing even more people to those images of scratch cat when they click on their profile.

That's probably the best argument against yet
