They removed mobile modeGood. Mobile pages were always showing up on search results even on desktop for some strange reason and it was very annoying. Not to mention that the pages were a total eyesore.
Semi-related tangent: I'm of the opinion that Scratch should start phasing out their version of DjangoBB—it's very outdated at this point and hacked together. I'm hoping a switch to something like Discourse will happen soon. It's open source, so the ST could easily modify it into something that fits the look of the rest of Scratch and integrates with the preexisting account system.
The question of migration of old topics still remains, however—for all I know, DjangoBB could use a proprietary or outdated format to store posts.

DjangoBB uses a relational database to store posts. You can see the schema here (there may have been updates since they last updated the github, but I doubt any major changes). They removed mobile modeGood. The trouble is simply that the forums are a fairly low priority part of the site compared to everything else (the vibe I get is that the priorities are, in order: project editing, project sharing, studios, other social features, then the forums). I know the forums are a technical headache for the ST too and I'm sure they would like to be on something more modern, it's just that there's a whole giant backlog of other higher priority work that needs to be done first.

Agreed, it was very annoying to go into a forum topic and seeing that it was on mobile. (It was very hard to navigate, and also PC mode works well on mobile for me)They removed mobile modeGood.
