I've met a few people who shared their first (not full) name, but I'm not exactly sure if this type of thing is allowed.

CG prohibits the sharing of last names since it’s directly linked to your family identity and could very well be used to track down your own, if there’s enough information available. You won’t be violating any guidelines should you decide to reveal your first name, but it definitely isn’t encouraged. In most cases sharing it would be pretty harmless, as long as it isn’t too exotic and that you haven’t shared any prior personal information (birthday, country of birth etc) that would allow users to pinpoint your identity.

Yes you are allowed to share your first name what you are not allowed to do is share you are not allowed to do is share your full name.

sharing it if its a common name is allowed (like “jack” etc) not exactly sure if rare names are allowed though

General rules are basicly

first name, not last name
I've seen some debate on this one but the main one ive seen is either your age OR your birthday, not both
Your country (That's automatic anyway) but NEVER your town or house number

other than that you shouldn't share anything else that people would classify as personal info

but yeah first names are definitely allowed. Since they can't be narrowed down to one person, unless you have a really uncommon one
Even if you have an uncommon one its okay. My name is Anakin and not even that could be used to track me down

But if sharing your name makes you feel uncomfortable in any way i would recommend you don't, you can always use an online alias or just be nameless.

if rare names aren't allowed they'd have to have a system in place to work out what names classify as rare and what names don't. At that point you'd just have to ban all use of first names

Uncommon first names can be mentioned, you just can’t say if you use it as your name.

Sharing first names are okay, (but some people would rather not) but last names are not allowed

If it’s a common name like “Mike” or “Dave” then I guess it’s okay, but if it’s something more unique (a name that less people have) then people shouldn’t do it.

Generally, first name is okay but not last name.

Well if a random guy is named Jack Hobson, sharing Jack would be fine, but Hobson or Jack Hobson isn’t because personal information

Yes if it's like a common name like Jake or Carl. Idk about rare names. Also you should only share your first name.
