Scratch is a great game engine, but it only has 1 problem. To play a Scratch game, you have to play in your browser, on the Scratch website, with internet, unlike with most games, where you can just download and play them in your desktop, or just play them on your computer, outside of a website.

I have seen some stuff about doing this with Windows, but I am on Mac, so would it be possible?

This looks like it is for windows, but i stated that i use Mac.

I also stated that i want to be able to play them on my desktop, not on a browser or website.

Ok, I'll give this a try!

You can get the scratch offline app(works for mac, I have one), or the turbowarp app(which is a mod of scratch but its otherwise just an advanced scratch editor ). You can also use the turbowarp packager to export the project as an HTML or zip file.

I tried it, but when i click the file, it just opens in by browser, and i specifically asked for a way to use it on my desktop, not on a browser

there are online packagers
which allows you to turn it into .exe or .app files

use the other environments instead m8

You can use Sheep_maker's HTMLifier or the TurboWarp Packager.
