Is the word d**n Scratch appropriate?
I am making an animation and I'm wondering if this word is appropriate for Scratch, because I wanna use it in the animation.
Some people say it's not a swear and others say it is.
Pls give me ur opinion down below.

I don't think you could get punished for using it, but maybe check with an ST member. @Paddle2See* usually responds to comments on his latest project. If they say you can, make sure to include in the notes and credits that you got permission.

“Damn” is okay for this site, as long as you aren’t using it to insult anyone (I think).

However, with the rate of “mass reporting”, I would not take any chances, instead I prefer making sure it cannot be reported for any reason.

While I consider it a curse word, the Scratch Team does not.

@Za-Chary calls it a “minor swear” in the TOLORS entry “Censor Minor Swears.”While I consider it a curse word, the Scratch Team does not. Some people say it's not a swear and others say it is.

As for the original question, it would be advisable not to use those words at all (better safe than sorry) but you won't get muted for saying them if you really want to express your feelings in that way, just keep in mind that you can get a notice from the ST for using it rudely toward someone else, and that some Scratchers (especially younger ones) and even parents of Scratchers, are uncomfortable with being exposed to / their children being exposed to even minor curse words like this.
Lastly, be a good example to younger Scratchers who might pick up the word and start using it elsewhere on the site or in other aspects of life. After all, we don't want these future coders to create HTML12 or whatever with their vocabulary being composed of the swear words they heard all the cool Scratchers post when they were in 3rd grade. That wouldn't turn out pretty, would it?

I think the forums have a different filter, if you type it in a comment it won't be censored.*, it wouldn't. Yes, I believe that's the case. Funny, because the forums are known to be considerably less strict in their word censoring.I think the forums have a different filter, if you type it in a comment it won't be censored.*, it wouldn't. (edit: it does censor it!) -snip-

It's allowed, though not in the forums, i suggest you NOT censor it and just use “dang” instead on the forums

I know the topic is necroposted but
the thing is you have to use the word in an appropriate context
and not just call anyone the damn word because the word damn is not filtered
