I have a solution for fonts in Scratch. It could come with a few preset fonts in the paint editor like Arial, Scratch, and Times, but there could also be an import button:Vouch
Font:
(Arial)
(Times)
(Scratch)
(Import…)
When you click on Import it would pop up a dialog where you can give it a .ttf file, and have it added to the font menu (only for your project.)
Another feature, that i'm not sure how it would work, though, is to put custom fonts in your Backpack.
This would be cool! Support, or have any more things to add?Supporters

By the way, you should also accept .svg (Scalable Vector Graphics) files. Hope you're fine with it!

There should be a 10MB file size limit (the same limit costumes have), and no more than 5 fonts per project

What about allowing Google Fonts? Scratch wouldn't need to host the fonts themselves.
Google Fonts is also used in Google Docs. It has 1000+ free fonts such as:
And then, we also wouldn't have to deal with font copyright issues. For example, Gill Sans MT is copyrighted and we probably would get in trouble by uploading it to the Scratch servers.

Yeah, but what about Priduct Sans tho? Product Sans is the font used by the Google logo, and Google is pretty chill with stuff. Im sure the Google company wouldn't mind a coding website to use their font.

what if we took this 1 step further, and added customizable fonts for blocks? Imagine having a font for each kind of block? note you cant apply a unique font to every block cuz thatd be too chaotic. but giving like the mystery font to all motion blocks, and the serif font to all of the looks blocks, and being able to change the font they use, itd be a whole thing.

Yes. Yes. YES. Supportz.We need these fonts, suggested fonts, Comfortaa, Poppins, Gotham and import the font for scratch 4.0
As long as they don't add any of these:
-Comic Sans
-Papyrus,
-Stencil,
-Hobo,
-Broadway,
-Joker,
-Curlz,
-Lithos Pro,
-Times New Roman,
-Courier,
-Budmo,
-Cry Kitty,
-Lucida Handwriting,
-Copperplate Gothic, or
-Geo.
Suggested Fonts:
- Helvetica Neue (all versions),
- Montserrat,
- Open Sans,
- Coolvetica, and
- Simplifica.
Yep, I know my fonts XD
