Choco's SWC dailies and Weeklies July 2023
Daily 4:
Bi-fi twist: Time-travellers arrive in the middle of the scene. They have something important to tell your character(s), but they only get to say part of it before they are forced to warp back to their own time. If there are multiple characters, they each interpret the message differently, or if there's just one character, they are hilariously wrong about what the time-travellers wanted them to do. (Bonus: The time-travellers accidentally leave a dinosaur behind >:3)
Twist: The clouds come down and take the form of a character's fears in front of them
Demigod Diaries: Leo Valdez and a Quest for Bufford
Leo sighed to himself. How could he have let this happen? He knew Buford HATED Windex, but he used it anyway! What would he tell his friends? How would he break the news that he had let them all down, and that their mission had been ruined all because of one little mistake? They would hate him forever.
As Leo was pacing around the room, he didn’t notice he had company. That was, until the person decided to make their presence known.
“BOOM!”
Leo yelped in surprise, and turned around to see a hooded guy about his height sitting on a chair, sipping coffee at the corner of the room.
“The Valdezinator has arrived!” He said with an impish grin. He took off his hood to reveal himself to be… Leo?
The original Leo was at a loss for words. It was like staring directly into a mirror. Leo did a few movements, and the imposter copied, clearly enjoying his reaction. This didn’t make any sense! That couldn’t have been Leo, because he was Leo. Or was he? This other guy was making him confused. Meanwhile, the other guy still had a huge grin on his face.
“I know what you may be thinking right now: Is that me? But I’m me!” he began, “Well, your’s truly, Leo Valdez, the Bad Boy Supreme found a way to achieve time travel!”
“So you’re me, but from the past?”
“Pretty much! Cool right?”
As they were talking, Piper and Jason burst in, looking as if they had been running for a while.
“We heard your distress call!” Piper said.
“It sounded urgent,” Jason continued, “What happened? And who is Buford?”
Piper turned to the first Leo, “Did you accidentally duplicate yourself?”
With all this time travel business, Leo had completely forgotten about the Buford issue. He also still had the other him to worry about.
“Guys, meet me,” he said, pointing to Leo 2, “from the future.”
“Oh yeah, about that, I don’t really have that much time, so I have to tell you something,” Leo 2’s face suddenly turned serious, “Buford -” suddenly, his voice started to cut out. “Save *static* Kraken *static* danger *static*.”
There was a big boom, and Leo from the future disappeared, and Leo was reminded of why he called Piper and Jason there, once again. He told them about how he had wiped Buford with Windex, and how Buford was nowhere to be found. He also informed them that if the capacitor inside Buford wasn’t restored, the ship he had been building would explode.
“That sounds serious,” Piper said, “but what do you think you from the future was talking about? I mean he couldn't have come all the way here for no reason right?”
“I think he said to save the Kraken or there would be danger?” Jason said.
“What could he possibly have been talking about?” Piper questioned, deep in thought.
“No time, no time! Didn't you guys hear what I said? The Argo II will explode in exactly an hour if we don't bring the capacitator back, and Buford could be anywhere!” Leo yelled, still panicking at how much he messed up. If they ever recovered from this, he swore to himself he would NEVER ever use windex again.
Leo, Piper and Jason stepped out of the bunker, and began their search for Buford. They noticed a trail that looked like table tracks on the ground, and decided to follow them. As they walked through, Leo lit his hand on fire to light the way. As they were walking, Leo thought he could hear whispers in the wind, calling out his name. Leo stopped in his tracks as a cloud came down from the sky, and began to materialize into a little scene of cloud figures in front of him. He saw his mother, crying and screaming out his name as flames surrounded him. Leo remembered this day very well. It was the day his mom died. The day he had caused her death. Tears had already began to trail down his face as the scene changed. Now, it was Bunker 9 in flames, and he could see all his friends there, and all his siblings. All the people he ever cared about, burning to death, all because of him. Now he was sobbing.
“Leo! Leo! Snap out of it!”
Hearing the voices of his friends brought him back to reality. Wiping his eyes, and realizing he had a mission to accomplish so he didn't let his friends down, he continued to follow the trail.
“Are you okay?” Piper asked, concerned for her friend, as he had suddenly stopped walking and began tearing up.
“I'm fine! Now are we gonna find the table or what?” Leo's signature grin was back on his face in an instant, masking his true feelings.
They continued to follow the trail until they arrived at a clearing, where they saw Buford hiding behind a tree, as a Kraken emerged out of no where, and began attacking a few Maenads who were partying around.
“Are you Dionysus?” One of them questioned with a tilt of her head.
“You aren't Dionysus silly!” Another giggled, seeming a bit drunk.
Suddenly, they all went crazy and began to attack it. Remembering what the future Leo had said, Leo, Piper and Jason shared a glance, and decided to jump in to protect the Kraken. Sadly, it did not end well. Eventually, the Maenads had tied them all up, and devoured the Kraken whole.
“YAY! Sacrifices to Dionysus!” they all shreiked in glee.
The future Leo then came back, and rescued Leo and his friends from the Maenads, and clarified what he had said. He had actually told them to stay away from the Maenads and the Krakens, and save Buford. They took Buford, went back to the Bunker and installed the capacitator into the ship, and all was well once more.

Cabin: Adventure
Instrumental on the way
First day of school I walk through the door
Fidgety worying ‘bout what’s in store
See many people I don't know
To start a new year I go
Soon enough people start to trickle in
My friends appear and I hold back a grin
I look around for a second time
Maybe this year I'll be fine
Meeting new people everyday
Make the most of this year in every way
During our final time as children
Before we begin
A brand new chapter
As highschoolers therein
When we go seperate ways
We'll think back to those days
When we were younger and free
In our last years to be
Kids
~ Instrumental ~
Later on in the year friends come and go
Joined different activities I go with the flow
Student Council, BSA, Band & the School Play
Tis a lot but I do it anyways
BHM Showcase, I perform with my friends
We make a poem as my teacher recomends
Multicultural show we do a skit
Honestly it was so lit
Meeting new people everyday
Make the most of this year in every way
During our final time as children
Before we begin
A brand new chapter
As highschoolers therein
When we go seperate ways
We'll think back to those days
When we were younger and free
In our last years to be
Kids
~ Instrumental ~
Soon enough comes our first concert show
None of us practiced and we all know
Trumpets are failing as usual
But no one minds it at all
Throughout all the year we did so much stuff
The beef, luv 2 groove, some fun some tough
Overall our class was hilarious
We acted a bit delirious
Meeting new people everyday
Make the most of this year in every way

Midway through March, right after BSA show
I had just arrived at my dear old home
My family was all so excited
There was something I needed to know
Earlier on in the year, I had applied
To an amazing school and they replied
I was to begin my highschool there
I felt a lot of despair
I had been in this school for 2 whole years
I had made so many memories here
Ready for highschool, had it all planned out
Plans were ruinned without a doubt
Last day of school comes so quick
Still doesn't feel like I'm over it
Saying goodbye and moving on
This year was very fun
It was the final year of junior high
The best class, and oh my
I made so many new friends
And now it all ends
But I'll never ever forget
These years were all my best
Junior high
I say goodbye
Repeat X2
These years would always be cherished
During our final time as children
Before we begin
A brand new chapter

Weekly 1 Pt 1
~The Highest Depths~
It was a beautiful day in the neighbourhoud. The sun was out, and there was not a single cloud in the sky. What a perfect day to go sky fishing wouldn't you think? Jorge, a local fish vendor in from the village cast his net upwards in towards the sky, hoping to get the perfect catch. Lucky for him, today was a good day. He caught many fish in that large net of his. Looking on across his fish, he picked out the best one. It was small and red, with beautiful white spots. Perfect! He tossed it into his little fishing pail, ready for the journey home. Of course, not wanting to be greedy, he let all the other fish go. Happy he had gotten a good catch, he began his journey. He lived a few kilometers away, so it took him about 20 minutes. His house was a little cottage on a hill. It was small because only him lived there. The roof was brown and made of straw, and the ceiling was wooden. On his walk, he thought about his sales. These past days, he hadn't gotten that many sales as people had been buying from a nearby vendor, so he hoped this day would be better. As soon as he arrived, he transferred the fish from the pail to a bowl, and got it ready for sales. This fish would make a perfect head for a wandering explorer! The next morning, he set out again to sell the fishes he had caught. He went to the nearest beach, and set up at his usual spot. He sat down, and spread out a small red mat, and placed 5 fish helmets on the ground. 2 of them, he had set aside for certain people, who had already pre ordered. Satisfied with his work, he set up a chair, sat down, and pulled out a steel pipe to keep him occupied. Soon enough, someone came around looking for a helmet. He eventually decided to choose the new one Jorge had gotten just the day before. The buyer happily set the fish bowl down on his head. Ready for his adventure, he walked up to the ocean, and took a dive in to swim with the birds.

Daily for July 12th: Fairy Tale Cabin
You slowly wake up in a daze and look around you. How long had you been out? You wonder to yourself. You scan your surroundings. It is truely a magical sight. Tall trees for as far as the eye can see, all kinds of animals playing together in harmony, there were pixies, unicorns, and fairies galore. It is like being in a fairy tale. You begin to walk around, wanting to explore this forest more. As you explore, you arive at a clearing, where a few other people are. A girl with long white hair going down to her calves, elf ears, and wings approaches you with a big smile on her face. Next to her is a guy, also with wings and elf ears.
“I'm Amy, ” the girl says, “and this is Ray.”

Song: If I killed someone for you - Alec Benjamin
I'm sorry I did that
There is blood on my hands
I found them
I don't know who I am
do not mention it
Should I do this?
Say you learned something
I will be a better person
According to my command
and repairing the walls
I'm going to take a shower
Then I went down the hall
I did everything for him
So there was no noise
What will I say?
So I ask if you are calling me.
I like it a lot
(I would love you so much)
What if I kill someone?
You can hold my hand
You can hold my hand
This is what I used
When I kill you
You want to convince me
(You think?)
When will you tell me to run?
When will you hide it?
(if you want to save it)
Is my face in the headlines?
Who killed him
A siren sounded
Look for the bright light
Crossing the border.
Get dressed
Show up at your door
He looked into her eyes
I will tell you my story
But nothing is known
I don't see running
He says he is looking for houses
Do you have any questions?
You can ask questions
Please explain to me
No, I'm not lying
You think
When you put him to bed
I like it a lot
(I would love you so much)
What if I kill someone?
You can hold my hand
You can hold my hand
This is what I used
When I kill you
You want to convince me
(You think?)
When will you tell me to run?
When will you hide it?
(if you want to save it)
Is my face in the headlines?
Who killed him
We need to understand this
I killed myself
Change the past
Because you get what you want from me
I followed your advice
I did everything they told me
I hope you will enjoy it
I can't go back
I like it a lot
(I would love you so much)
What if I kill someone?
You can hold my hand
You can hold my hand
This is what I used
When I kill you
You want to convince me
(You think?)
When will you tell me to run?
When will you hide it?
(if you want to save it)
Is my face in the headlines?
I will kill you, yes
Trigger Warning: Death, Murder
714 words
I stared at the knife in my hands in shock. I did it! I had actually done it. I killed him. Michael, the guy who had beat up my brother in the alley the other night lay lifeless on the bathroom floor. I didn't know what I was thinking when I stabbed him. The truth is, I wasn't. I didn't think about the effects, I didn't think about the consequences, I didn't think about the chance of life on the run from the police, I didn't think about the effect it would have on his family. At that moment, all that had mattered was making him pay for the pain he had caused our family. He had cornered Robbie, my little brother one day after school because he had gotten better marks than him in school, and beat him until he passed out. He nearly didn't survive it. Because of Michael, my brother was put into the hospital. Because of him, my dear brother may not survive. I couldn't put that past me, even though I had sworn to myself I would never harm anyone again. See, I had a past of letting my anger get the best of me, and attacking other people. Last time I was sued for hitting a little kid that was annoying me. I had sworn to the judge that I would never do a thing like that again. That I would be a better person. Now looking down at the dead body, blood pooling out rapidly from the hole in his head, where I had stabbed, I knew I had broken that promise. Surely, the police would be looking for the person that killed Michael Jordan Jr. Just then, my phone rang. I look at the caller ID, to see Avery, my childhood friend.
“Avery,” I said, answering the phone, my voice barely a whisper, “Can I come over? I have a problem.”
I knocked on the door to her house. It was midnight, a late time to be outside. She opened the door, and saw me, bloody and sweaty.
“Nico! What happened to you?” she holds both my hands in hers. I struggled to meet her eyes.
I told her everything that had happened. From Michael beating up Robbie up until the moment I stabbed him in the head with a knife.
“You killed Michael Jordan Jr.?” Avery asks, shock written all over her face, “You're joking, right? This is one of your not so funny jokes to scare me.”
“No! I'm not. Everything I say is true.”
Just as I say that, the tv turns on, and true to what I said, there is a headline that reads: “Michael Jordan Jr found dead in Shoppers Drug Mart bathroom, suspect: ‘Nico Germano’”
Avery gasps, realizing everything I said was true. She looks at me in dissapointment.
“How could you kill someone?” she sends me a look of dissapointment, “How would you like it if you were the one dead? Now you're on the run, and are here for cover! I could go to jail for helping you!”
“Please! Please cover for me,” I plead, “we've known each other for ever! You wouldn't betray me.”
“Okay,” she finally gave in, “there are clean clothes in my brother's bedroom. Go take a shower and we'll figure out what to do afterwards.”
“Thank you so much Ave,” I smiled at her, “you are a true friend.”
Little did I know, I was wrong. The sound of sirens filled my ears as I looked out the window to see police cars pulling over in the driveway. I couldn't beleive my best friend since we were six had betrayed me. My face hardened, and my sadness turned into rage. If this was how it was going to be, then so be it. I put on new clothes, and went downstairs to where Avery was sitting on the couch on her phone. I pulled out the knife, the same one I had used to kill Michael, to stab her, over and over again. That was what she got for betraying me. I then jumped out the back window, and went off on my way. I learned a valuable lesson that day, the day I began my life on the run: Never trust anyone.
I'm sorry I did that
There is blood on my hands
I found them
I don't know who I am
do not mention it
Should I do this?
Say you learned something
I will be a better person
According to my command
and repairing the walls
I'm going to take a shower
Then I went down the hall
I did everything for him
So there was no noise
What will I say?
So I ask if you are calling me.

Crossing the border.

Weekly Part 2:
Types of Internal Conflict and Utilizing It ~ Mangolia012
It was the 13th of February, and the city was bustling with activity. Everyone was busy. It was the day before Valentines day, so many people where out for last minute shopping for their partners. Many people but not me. I didn't really understand the point of all those things. It was all meaningless to me. All that romance, falling in love, all for what? Just to have your heart broken? Why would I go through all that trouble? There was no point if it would end in ruins. I had other things to focus on anyways, like stealing the royal crown. That thing was worth about 6 billion dollars, so acquiring it would make me very, extremely rich. Today was the perfect day to do it too, because everyone was occupied, and the palace was not as guarded as it usually was due to valentine day festivities. Our kingdom, Valentina was known for it's Valentine day celebrations, and had the biggest Valentines day celebrations in the world. The celebrations would make the best distraction to slip in and out with the crown before anyone noticed. The crown was kept in a secure vault in the palace basement, guarded by multiple traps, only unlocked with a special passcode and special access only granted to the head palace guard, Carlos Diaz, and the queen herself. No one else was allowed to enter the vault. Stealing the crown would be the most dangerous heist I would ever attempt, and there was no certainty I would come back alive, but I was willing to risk it, because I didn't have anything to live for but money. My parents abandoned me at a young age, and I was left to fend for myself, and had lived at the orphanage most of my life.
“Julietta, come in, can you hear me?” I heard my brother Cesco on the other side of the communicator. I had known Cesco since we met in the orphanage at the age of 10, and we had been like siblings ever since.
“Loud and clear.”
“I've sent you the fake ID credentials on your phone,” he said, “You are now able to get into the royal palace ‘Duchess Windsbrooke’ of the United Kingdom.”
“Thanks,” I respond. By the time we are done talking, I have arrived at the entrance to the palace. As expected, there are 2 guards protecting the entrance. They cross their guns in front of the door to block me from going in.
“State your buisness,” one says.
I put on my best British accent, “Excuse you for your rudeness, I am Duchess Windsbrooke, here from the United Kingdom, representing the king.”
“We are very sorry your majesty,” the other one hastily responds, “please come in.”
“I'm in!” I tell Cesco.
I run as fast as I can, and dodge all of the lazers and traps as fast as possible. This was way easier than I could have known. It made me so happy to know how close I was to victory. I had just gotten to the vault door when I realized the door was locked.
“Cesco, are you able to hack the door yet?”
“Give me a minute,” It takes a few minutes, but then the door was unlocked. ‘Queen Valentine, welcome.’
I rushed in, ready to take the crown, but then, to my surprise I heard from the other side of the line:
“Francesco Rodriguez, you are under arrest for treason. You will be executed at the Valentines Day Ceremony.” I gasped in shock. I couldn't beleive it. My best friend for over 10 years was to be executed tommorow. I looked at the crown, and looked at the door. I didn't know what to do. I could probably go back, and help Cesco, but I would never get the money. If I continued into the vault and took the crown, by the time I got back, my best friend would probably be rotting in a jail cell. I needed the money, but I also needed my best friend. What would I do? This was not good. After moments of consideration, I realized my best friend was my everything. Without him, what was the point of the getting the money? I would have all the money in the world, but my best friend would be dead. We were in this together, no matter what. I turned around, and ran back out. I needed to save my best friend.
Suddenly, there was a loud alarm blaring. ‘INTRUDER ALERT’. Soon enough, there were guards surrounding me, and they all grabbed me. “Duchess Windsbrooke, or should I say, Julietta Perez, you are under arrest.”
Eventually, Cesco and I were experiencing our final moments at the top of the execution place.
“Sorry I got you killed,” Cesco said to me.
“Don't worry,” I responded, “together to the end alright?”

Prompt : @septembersong: One of the amazing features of showers is that when you are inside nobody can see you cry
I opened the door of my house, and walked in. This was the worst day of my life. I had been through an awful car crash, and I was the only one who survived. I walked into my room, and went to my faveourite place in the house, the shower. See though it may not look like much, showers were amazing becausewhen you are inside nobody can see you cry. There are no questions like - “Are you okay?” “Do you need help?” “Why are you crying?” No one judges, there is no reason to filter yourself. When outside these walls, I have to be strong for everyone else. I have to uphold my standards at the most popular girl in school. Everyone knows my name. If I ever slip or stumble, everyone would see it, and would comment on it. I had to be perfect, or nothing. Though it wasn't fair, it was my life. I was Ms Perfect. I had perfect grades, perfect family, perfect personality, I had no flaws. Or, thats what I wanted people to think. I never wanted anyone to see the other side of me, the not so perfect side. The side of me that drowns my troubles in the shower, the side of me that is heavily emotional, the side of me that is carrying so much pressure on my shoulders,

Part 2:
As he gazed upon the Mona Lisa, the most important item in the Louvre, Drew knew it was now or never. He only had minutes before the security guards would realise there was something sketchy about the “Rabid Dog in the sculpture section,” and come to check on their valuables. This was one of the most valuable paintings in the world, worth 970 million US dollars, so the Louvre could not afford to get it stolen. Drew slowly took the painting off the wall, and slipped it into his bag. He chuckled coyly, and began to scale the wall upwards to reach the hole in the glass roof he had created. He could see it now, all the accolades, the fame, the glory just waiting for him at LEMIN. He was so close. Just a few meters more and he was home free! Just as he was about to reach the hole, the rope cut, and he fell. There was a loud crash as he landed on a pedastol and nocked off a glass pot.
'Dang it!' He thought to himself as the security guards began to rush in.
Knowing there was no way he would make it out of there unless he left the painting, Drew abandonned the bag, and sprinted out the door. As the cool night breeze was blowing in his face, he ran and ran and ran, until he reached the subway. Once he got there, he got on a train towards the Eiffel Tower. As he sat down, trying to catch his breath, he ran his hands through his wavy black hair, tugging on it a bit. He couldn't beleive he failed! He was one of the most valued members of the LEMIN corporation. He couldn't afford to fail missions. That wasn't part of who he was. He began to breathe heavily. His boss, Ray was going to have a fit. He would fire him for sure! What would he do if he didn't have his job? For Drew, his job was his life. He hadn't known anything aside from it. When he had been lost on the streets, stealing to live, Ray had seen potential in him and taken him in, and the corporation had been like his family his whole life. Without them, he would be alone, and he couldn't deal with that.
Once Drew arrived at the Eiffel tower, took the elevator down to the -155th floor, about 6 miles underground. This was where the LEMIN HQ was. LEMIN stood for L'Enterprise Magasin Illegal National. They were an underground market that specialised in supplying all kinds of illegal stolen items to buyers. They also manifactured their own technologies too, which they made using all kinds of stolen things too. They were a multi-million dollar company that originated in France, even though they had places all around the world.
As the elevator door opened, Drew was dreading for his life. Who knew how much trouble he would be in when Ray saw him empty handed. He walked by the lemon logo in the middle of the atrium, and thought about what he was going to say. He was trying to think of good excuses to why he didn't bring back the goods.
(539 words)
Part 3:
“Andrew Leon,” he heard a deep booming voice behind him. A sense of dread washed over him. He knew that voice. It was Ray. “I see you have returned, empty handed. My office NOW.”
Ray's voice had an eerie sound of calm to him. It was like that saying, calm before the storm. This perfectly illustrated that. Drew knew a storm of rage was settling in from the look on Ray's face, to the fact that he had used his full name. He never, ever did unless he was really mad. Drew cautiosly stepped into the office, head down in shame, knowing fully well he was done for.
“I sent you, about 2 hours ago to get the Mona Lisa. As we can both see, there is no Mona Lisa in sight, which means you failed your mission. Care to tell me why?”
“Sir, I -”
“Never mind. I don't want to hear it. It is clear that you are not qualified to take on tasks like this, because you obviously can't handle it. I guess I have to revoke your title as a trained criminal, and fire you from this place of work, because CLEARLY, you have lost your skill.”
Drew was overwelmed with shock. His hands became sweaty, and he began to breathe heavily. This was his biggest fear. All he had known and loved being taken away from him. All because he wasn't good enough.
“Please, please sir,” He pleaded with every bone in his body, “I'm begging you, please reconsider.” He was at the brink of tears, “Give me one last chance.”
Ray stared at him, eyes devoid of emotion, and it made Drew really scared. He had no idea what was going on in Ray's mind. If he was considering letting him stay or not. Eventually, it looked like Ray had come to a descision.
“Fine, you get one last chance,” He said, “One last opportunity to prove you still have what it takes to be a part of LEMIN.”
He pulled out a picture. It was the heart shaped gem, the heart of Atlantis. It was what kept the city alive. Its whole power source.
“One of our biggest inventions, our biggest breakthrough relies on us having this gem. Get it, and you can be part of the corporation once more,” He said, dismissing him.
Drew turned to leave, then Ray called him back, “One more thing. You have to work with a partner, Emma Wang.”
Emma Wang. Drew remembered her. She was one of the knew recruits. The annoying Chinese girl with the long dark brown ponytail, and dark brown eyes. She was always very energetic and positive even at the most high stake situations. He rolled his eyes. If he was going to have to work with her, it would be a long mission. Just as he was mentally planning how the mission was going to go, Emma ran by, knocking him over.
'Speak of the devil and he shall appear,' he thought to himself, rolling his eyes.
“Oh!” She said dusting herself off, “You're just who I was looking for! I'm Emma, pleased to meet you!” She said, practically bubbling over with energy, “I'm so excited to work with you on this mission!”
“I'm not,” Drew mumbled, still upset he had to put up with her for the mission.
“Hmph, someone is in a bad mood. Anyways, lets get to work partner! We have to hurry if we are going to succeed in the mission!”
Part 4:
Soon, they arrived at the entrance to the cave, where they were to find the gemstone. They walked through the cave, looking for where the gemstone might have been. Since it powered the entire city of Atlantis, they knew it must have been guarded in some way. They arrived at an area, and Emma was about to cross a bridge, when Drew pulled her back.
“Watch out,” He said, “that bridge won't hold us.”
He picked up a rock, and threw it to demonstrate, and as expected, the bridge crumbled right before their very eyes.
“Well, what do you know?” Emma chuckled to herself, “How are we supposed to get accross the cavern now?”
Drew pulled out his rope gun and shot it towards the other side, “We tightrope across on this.”
Emma looked downwards towards the cavern. It looked at least 100 feet deep. If any of them fell, survival would be impossible. “Are you CRAZY, do you want us to die?”
Drew shrugged nonchalantly as he began to walk across. “It's our only option. And hey? I thought you were supposed to be the positive one?”
“Okay, well, I'm positive you want us to die.”
“Stop being a baby and get over here,” Drew said already at the other side.
Emma closed her eyes, and counted to ten, before beginning to walk across. She knew from movies that looking down would cause her to fall, and if she opened her eyes, she would look down, so she tried to keep her eyes shut. It didn't work, because she eventually opened her eyes, and began to freak out, just a few feet from the other side.
“Oh my gosh, I'm gonna fall, I'm gonna fall, I'm gonna fall,” She said to herself as she lost her footing. She saw her life flash before her eyes, and felt her heart beating very fast. So, this was the end? Drew on the other hand acted quickly, shooting his rope gun which latched itself unto Emma's belt, and began pulling her up. Once she was out, she opened her eyes, and fell to the ground.
“I fell…” she said, still in shock, “I fell… but I lived.”
“Your welcome,” Drew said rolling his eyes.
They continued on their journey, and eventually arrived at the front door to where the gemstone was. Just as they touched the knob, an alarm blared, and a bunch of people came out from around them. They realized they had been ambushed. About 10 people surrounded them, guns at the ready.
“Surrender, now.” One of them said stepping up to them.
Drew looked around him. He wouldn't accept failure, even though his life was on the line. He grabbed Emma's hand, and tapped in morse code, a language everyone at LEMIN were taught.
'I'll distract them, you climb in through the vent and get the gem,' he tapped. They locked eyes, and Emma hesitated, ‘Do it. I’ll meet you at the entrance.' She nodded her head, understanding the assignment.
Drew took a smoke bomb out of his pocket, and threw it on the ground. In the confusion, Emma snuck out, and scaled the wall to get to the vent as Drew began punching and kicking everyone in sight. He first dissarmed the first few people in front of him with a swift kick, then as the others shot, he ducked which made them shoot each other. Soon, he was alone with one, the boss.
Meanwhile, Emma had gotten through the vent, and was now alone with the gem, or so she thought. The defense system activated, and lasers where shot at her from all around. She reached for her phone in her pocket and logged into the system. Hacking. This was what she was good at. As she dodged the lasers, she was hacking the system, and punching in codes to disable it. Once she was done making the kill code, she uploaded it unto a flash drive, and put it into the control panel that controlled all the laser bots. This made them all stop shooting. She smirked to herself, and pumped up her fist in victory before aproaching the gem, and putting it into the bag.
“Heck yeah!” She cheered as the power went out in the room and all around.
Drew saw this too and smiled. ‘She did it!’ He thought. As the lights went out, the boss was dazed, and he kicked him and ran towards the exit, where he agreed to meet Emma. They saw each other there and smiled.
“You did it” He said, grinning.
“No, we did it!”
They did a little victory dance, and got onto the boat that was to take them back to LEMIN.
(786 words)
End:
When they walked into LEMIN, Drew was over the moon. He had done it. He had saved his job. With a little help from Emma of course, but still, he wouldn't be rendered homeless, and that was a big win. Emma had proved to be really helpful in the end too. With her hacking, and disabling the robots, and her little solo mission to get the gold. He was glad to have had her by his side, because without her, honestly, the mission would have been impossible.
Emma on the other hand was elated. She was so happy she got to work with THE Andrew Leon, the most famous opperative in LEMIN. He had congratulated her, and said she had been a really important part of the team. He didn't know how much those words had meant to her. For a long time, many people had told her about how annoying she was, and how much they hated working with her, and so she knew that after the best criminal in the world, the one all of us looked up to had told her she was good, everyone would look up to her too.
They walked into Ray's office together, Drew holding the bag with the gemstone inside.
“We got it sir,” he said, dropping it on his table.
“I have to admit, I'm impressed,” he said, actually shocked he succeeded. He had assumed Drew would have struggled having Emma to work with, but for once he actually did great. “I have another mission for you two, if you are up to it.”
“We're ready as we can be sir!” They both said.
THE END.

Her mother is the main guard at Atlantis => When they go, they encounter numerous obstacles on their way, like traps, guards. => They meet Lia, who helps them along the way => Drew starts to like her => They encounter Emma's mother, who inevitably is dissapointed in Emma because she is trying to steal the gem => Emma overcomes her => Close to the end of the tunnel, when they are almost at the gem, Lia turns on them, and they are ambushed by guards => Emma has to leave Drew behind, and get the gem while he distracts the guards => Emma gets the gem, but can't find Drew => After she thinks him to be dead, Drew shows up dramatically => They leave together, and they are friends, and give the gem to the corporation

THE END.

It was June 12th, 2030, when my life got turned upside down. It was lunchtime at school, and I made my way to the back bench where I usually hung out with my friend Aiko during lunch, though he was under the weather today. I put my headphones on and began to draw, disconnecting from the world around me. Music always calmed me down. I was currently working on my entry for the national arts competition. As I bobbed my head to the music, getting lost in my own little world, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up to see a girl who I recognized to be Sayuri, Aiko’s older cousin. She was glaring down at me and seemed to be upset. I rolled my eyes. Typical. She always found joy in annoying me anyways. The bell rang for recess, and I brushed past her, went outside and sat on the swings and continued to sketch. Suddenly, my headphones were yanked off my head.
“Hey! Idiot! Listen to me when I’m talking to you!”
I glared at her, now annoyed. I eventually got fed up and was about to react when I remembered what my parents had said. One more incident, and I would be sent to boarding school. My parents were tired of all the calls about me getting into fights, and hurting others. It wasn’t my fault people kept testing my patience. I gripped my pencil harder and sketched furiously. My therapist had told me to use the sketchbook as a way to exert my anger. Sayuri stared at me, both shocked and annoyed that I didn’t react. I usually would have said something by now. In a moment of UTMOST STUPIDITY, she yanked my sketchbook from my hands and threw it to the ground.
“Now, you have to listen to me.”
I felt my blood boiling as I took a step toward her. I shoved her, then was about to punch her when she froze, and fell limp to the ground, bleeding. She was… shot. I looked around in a panic as people from all over started to gather, some pulling out their phones to record. Soon, the headmaster came over to see what the commotion was all about.
“What have you done?” the headmaster bellowed, all eyes turned to me as he stood over the lifeless body on the playground.
I was frozen in shock. I had barely touched her. I hadn’t done anything wrong. “Sir! I can explain!”
The headmaster shook his head, “Everyone saw what happened.”
There was nothing to be said. The evidence was clear as day. If I were a bystander watching this unfold, I wouldn’t believe me either. My bad reputation as a hothead did not help my case. I was certain this wasn’t going to end well for me. The headmaster would call my parents, and I would be sent to juvie, and when I got out, Boarding school! At that moment, I knew I had to get out of there as fast as possible, so I ran like the devil was after me. The wind was rushing in my face in the warm summer breeze, and my hair was blowing in my face. I kept running until I was in front of a huge abandoned house. It was made of dark brown, worn out wood, and it was about 5 stories tall. The door hinge was faulty and the door hung partially open, and it seemed no one was home.
Knowing fully well I had no other option, I sucked in a breath and stepped in. As I closed the door, the hinge squeaked. Inside of the house though, it looked and smelt even worse than out. The floorboards squeaked, and there were cobwebs everywhere. I felt the smell of rotten cheese waft to my nose. When was the last time anyone had been here? I wandered around carelessly and I screamed as I found myself face to face with a silver dagger, and I gasped. In front of me was a girl, slightly shorter than me, with freckles and frizzy red hair. She looked about my age.
“Who sent you here?” she questioned in a hushed tone, still holding the knife to my face. She had a bit of a French accent.
“Who points a knife at visitors?” I retorted.
“Visitors?” she scoffs at me, “No one ever comes to visit, ”

The floorboards squeaked, and there were cobwebs everywhere. I felt the smell of rotten cheese waft to my nose. When was the last time anyone had been here? I wandered around carelessly and I screamed as I found myself face to face with a silver dagger, and I gasped. In front of me was a girl, slightly shorter than me, with freckles and frizzy red hair. “Who sent you here?” she questioned in a hushed tone, still holding the knife to my face. She had a bit of a French accent.
“Who points a knife at visitors?” I retorted.
“Visitors?” she scoffs at me, “No one ever comes to visit, ”
She seemed like she was contemplating before she finally put it down. She took me to a different room with a kitchenette and a little couch. She let me sit on the couch, and we began to talk. I found out her name was Astride, and she was an orphan who ran away from home. I told her about the situation with Sayuri, and she told me about how she had seen a lot of CSI shows, and she offered to help clear my name in exchange for $1000. After our conversation, Astride left to get some snacks, and my phone rang.
“Hey Soph,” I heard on the other line, and I smiled. It was Aiko.
“Aiko, hey! How’s it going?”
“So, I heard you’ve been getting into a lot of trouble since I was gone,” Aiko chuckled, “like being on the run from the police.”
“I guess everyone knows now,” I guess everyone knows now, I say, “all because that stupid cousin of yours had to annoy me.”
“Wait a sec, you did kill her?” He sounds shocked.
“Of course not! I was framed,” I tell him, “you know me well enough to know that regardless of my anger issues, I would never kill a person.”
“I know that, I was just checking to be sure.”
As we were talking, I heard a few voices in the background, and someone came over to tell Aiko his uncle was downstairs.
“Sorry Soph, gotta go,” He said.
“No problem,” I replied, “Talk to you later?”
“Talk to you later.”
After our call was cut short, I picked up my phone and began to scroll until a news notification popped up:
“Grandchildren of the owner of the multimillion dollar company, Sayuri & Aiko Sudarso, both found dead. Suspect, Sofia Fontana, is under investigation. Their uncle Yoshi speaks on the Situation.”
‘Aiko’s dead,’ I think to myself.
I dropped my phone in shock, the gravity of the situation weighing down on me. I was distraught. I could feel my eyes watering and I began to breathe heavily. My best friend of 5 years was now gone. I played with my short curly brown hair to ease the stress. As the grief consumed me, I didn’t notice Astride return from the kitchen with some snacks. I quickly began to wipe the tears from my face.
“Why the long face?” Astride asked me.
“My best friend just died.”
“Oh. Anyways,” she deadpanned again, “Let’s start with researching some helpful information.”
How could someone be so heartless? She didn’t even seem like she cared. I let out a defiant huff. I didn’t need her sympathy anyways. We continued to investigate. Since all the targets were part of the Sudarso family, the next target would probably be either Mei or Yoshi Sudarso, since they were the last Sudarsos. Solving the case was more dire than ever, knowing lives were at stake. We began at the scene of the crime, the school playground. Since it was late, there was no one in sight, so we could go there without being caught. When we arrived, Astride began to examine the body.
“Sniper shot,” she mumbled.
“What?” I turned around in confusion.
“There’s no other way for the shot to have been so precise otherwise,” she stated as if it were apparent, “it must have come from up there.”
She was pointing towards the roof of a nearby hotel. She was right about being intelligent. I would never have figured that out. We took a walk to the hotel, the warm summer breeze blowing in our faces.
The place had a bit of a homey feel to it. The front desk was in a lounge, with cozy couches and comfy ottomans. The delicious smell of food from the dinner buffet wafted towards my nose, and I sighed. Why couldn’t things be how they used to be? Normally, I would be having dinner with my family now.
“Hey Sofia,” Astride snapped her fingers in front of my face, “Focus!”
She gave me a summary of the information she had collected. A tall middle-aged Asian man with short brown hair and light brown eyes had checked in to visit a friend, with a big black bag. The person he had ‘visited’ had checked out an hour before.
Astride looked deep in thought, “Thank you for your cooperation.”
As we were walking out, Astride was typing on her phone. She suddenly perked up.
“I’ve got it!” she said. “You mentioned something about when your friend called you. You said he had to go because his uncle came to visit right?”
“Yes.”
“And almost right after, news came out that he was dead right?”
Realization suddenly hit me, “You don’t think that…”
“The rich matriarch of the Sudarso family recently passed, and she left all her money to Aiko and Sayori. His motive makes sense.”
Now we had our theory, we needed to test it. Mei Sudarso was attending a fashion gala, and we suspected Yoshi would be there to finish the job. Astride was able to hack into the system and add our names to the guest list, so we were able to attend. Once we got there, we began to look around for suspicious activity. Not long after we walked in, I noticed Yoshi grab Mei’s arm, and take her somewhere secluded. I nudged Astride’s arm, and we followed after them, making sure to stay hidden. Once they got to the area, Mei’s back was turned, and Yoshi pulled out a knife from his pocket and was about to stab her.
“Look out!” I screamed out to her.
Mei turned around, and her face was a twisted expression of horror and disbelief as she stared at her brother, eyes burning with confusion and betrayal.
“What the…” She said, at a loss for words, “were you trying to stab me?!”
“What is WRONG with you little kids?” Yoshi screeched, “I was this close to getting the whole inheritance, and you IDIOTS had to just mess it up?”
“Yoshi, I had always known you were crazy, but to kill all your family members, all for money?” Mei scoffs, “That's crazy, even for you. I’m calling the cops.”
As she dialed the cops, Yoshi lunged for her, but Astride was there first. She pushed Mei away, and gave Yoshi a swift kick in the guts. They got into a fistfight, and I could see Astride was losing, so I took things into my own hands. I saw Yoshi’s knife, which he had dropped glistening on the ground. Going unnoticed, I picked it up and snuck up behind him. Closer, closer, and then, I thrust it into his gut with all my might. Yoshi began to gasp, and crumple to the floor, just as the police arrived. From the floor, they put a knee to his back, and cuffed him, who was still bleeding unconscious.
“We’ll have to take you in as a witness,” the cops said to me, “See you at the hearing.”
I smiled to myself. I had two people to back me up, so I would probably win the case, and be let go. Right now though, I was able to go home. Home to my parents. To my family.
‘This sure was a hectic day,’ I thought to myself as I made my way home, the cool summer breeze blowing in my face as I walked. After a few minutes, I heard footsteps behind me. They were getting closer and closer until I felt a sack cover my face.
“Why hello Sofia,” Yoshi grinned menacingly.

Truly Refreshing… I thought to myself as I took a sip of my lemonade. I sighed. This was what days off should be like. Not running around, chasing your siblings to make sure they're safe, not being annoyed by your family members all the time, just chilling. Well, that was how I felt until I felt my throat constrict, and I was gasping for air. The sour taste of the lemonade was burning on my tongue. What in the WORLD did Jessie put in this lemonade? It tasted like poison. As I began to choke, I looked around for someone to help me, but I couldn't find anyone. To make matters worse, I tried to open the back door to get back in, but it was locked. As I struggled and struggled, I didn't notice a towel under me, so I slipped, and fell into the deep end of the pool. I can't swim.
