Idk, we've been in a spiral with the country arguments until that, with the heavy political arguments possibly being unnecessary and the last things on their minds.
Can I just report the topic to note it's solved or…. Idk, I don’t really support this suggestion anymore-

I've seen several users complain that these flags would be offensive. How is adding an Afghanistan flag with the rest of the country flags, supporting terrorism? How is adding a German flag supporting the Nazis? How is adding a Russian flag supporting Russia in the war?

Also, I have a question. When selecting the country flag sprite, what would the default country flag image appear as? It would be offensive to make it a so-called “generic” country like America, and it would be confusing if it started in alphabetical order. Maybe just make it a plain white flag as the default flag?

I think the best solution is to add all flags that are in the ISO 3166 country codes, which is the list Scratch uses for location already. That way all teritories are covered and if anyone complains, then Scratch can just say they use the ISO list, as they have already done here.

Just download your own pictures of any flag. That way no one can complain about being left out, no support.

I don't think we're going to be adding outdated flags that are no longer used today.

We're not using a Roman flag. We're not using a Vichy France flag. We're not using Canada's old flag with the Union Jack. And we won't use a Nazi flag.

this seems pretty controversial. anyway, I support ONLY on the condition we don't exclude any of them. I know russia has done things recently, but if you go back enough every major country has done something morally questionable. So, we should either do them all or not do any. I think that adding these would help people who can't download their own images or can't draw as well.

yes, but if they implemented all of those letter sprites without trouble I doubt they will have a problem with them.
