if you want a source confirming Yanagi right, then why isn't there a source confirming they're wrong? Answer: Because this is just entirely speculation, and an unimaginably nonsensical argument that has a statistically correct answer, but can't ever be truly confirmed, because Pokémon don't exist, and 1 billion lions is such an absurdly high number, that out of all the lions that have ever existed, there have probably never even been close to 100 million total.

Imma be the Devil's Advocate here and agree with Yanagi.
However, I really don't care about this argument enough to actually care about what anybody else thinks.
The only reason I agree with Yanagi is because of statistics in the video games, real life, and mathematics.
