Perhaps a “similar projects” bar. I made a topic for it but it died out and I am a lazy soul that does not feel like searching through my topics to find it.

I DO NOT support the removal but support the similar projects thing. It could be on a project.

1. New projects wouldn't be seen. Nobody would notice new Scratchers. Scratch would turn into fifty or so good scratchers who everyone knows, and thousands/hundreds of thousands/millions of scratchers nobody notices.

2. When have you seen inappropriate stuff in recently shared projects?

3. Even if the new projects section were removed, there are still probably be ways for inappropriate projects to go around.

New Scratchers need their project noticed. Besides, this is no more dangerous than

• Search for a Project

• What the Community is Remixing/Loving
  

• A Studio
  

• The shared projects on a Scratcher's profile

I support removing it from the front page, but being able to find them in the “explore” section. Same with top remixed - it's mainly CCs anyway.

Problem is, 99% of “recently shared” projects are complete crud to put it bluntly.
It's not their fault, as people's first projects obviously won't be anything spectacular, but still, most of them don't deserve the front page.

But yeah, it does provide a chance for lesser known projects to be viewed, which is fair to everyone.
Maybe there could be a restriction of at least 10 views before it gets admitted to the section? That way, there'll be a higher chance for it to be reported.

Support. It allows new scratchers to be noticed, but what's there that's actually worth spending time to look at? I think I have only ever found one project worth viewing there. So if most everybody is like me then really the new projects there aren't really noticed.

+1 I once saw a project on there that was called “Kill the girlfriend” or something like that.

However, I just want to add my 2 cents to this pile of opinions.Please don't hate me for this but…
I don't really look at that section.
It's near the bottom and not very well advertised (seriously, would you really go out of your way to see a project called Untitled-48?) and I just never really look at it. It isn't very big and, as others have mentioned, the project aren't of as high quality as featured ones.

Not exactly. It was removed, but then a decision was made to only show for users who are logged in (it won't show up for visitors). That's how it used to be in the latter 1.x days and how it is now today.
